Can you go to heaven if you have not received the holy Spirit? Before you answer remember we don't know those on the cross with Jesus had received the HS do we?

A person who believes in Jesus, in this time period (church age) receives the Holy Spirit at the very moment of belief in Jesus. That was not the case in the time before Jesus physically came to earth. In the times of The Tanakh the Holy Spirit was given to selected individuals to accomplish task for God, like writing The Tanakh (Old Testament)

I believe many people will be "Saved" even though they do not discover the entire truth in the here and now. They will be judged by what they knew in their conscience.

The purpose of the Gospel is to bring people the assurance of Salvation now so that they can testify to the world about what God is like. Those who were unwilling or unable to do that and yet desire to be with Christ will likely find themselves with him for eternity.
