God Bless America; God Bless a Free Iraq!
As I want the pictures of US Marines and Iraqi civillians working toghether to bring down a towering statue of a vicious dictator, I am filled with a new sense of pride, not felt often. To be part of a country that works for the oppressed. The symbolism that indwells that historic moment when Iraqi and American flags were draped over Saddam's face, when the men of Iraq and our Marines boosted one another up to tie chains around the oppressor, and break the chains that held themselves back. To see the images of women bringing racks of lamb and beef to our troops to show appreciation. It brings a sense of justice.
And yet here is another history lesson. Today at 9 am Eastern time, the voice of the left became silent and unimportant. The same arguments, tried and true, put forth by the left, "Saddam does not have weapons of mass destruction." "The people want Saddam in power." "We cannot win this war." "Saddam does not support terrorists." became moot over live television. Cast before the entire world was the truth: the liberals do not work in the best interests of America and mankind, but in the best interests of themselves. They will only support what makes them look good. And as our marines destroy terrorist training faucilities in nothern Iraq, as we work with the population to tear down symbols of Saddams grip on Baghdad, as we find new weapons caches, and after 21 days of fighting take the capital of a country the size of California, we find the truth: the left has become moot.
Once again the left has found themselves on the wrong side of history. If they had won, and the UN had won, and the democrats had won, those 500 children in a Fedayeen concentration camp in Nassariya would still be there.
I say look not at a post-Saddam Iraq; look at a post-Saddam America. We now see who was right and who was wrong. Jus Ad Bellum has taken force, the battle has raged, and we come out with the understanding that some things are right, and this was right.
Bask in the glory, men and women of America. This is a day for the history books. A free Iraq, and a silenced left!
