We are not only to hear the Word of God, we are to also declare it.

Jeremiah 31:10
Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

We must also declare among others what he has done, and is still doing today!

Isaiah 12:4
And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

We are the Lords witnesses!

Isaiah 43:10
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

We already have the witness within ourselves when we believe in Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit speak through you. God has already given us all that we need to serve as his witnesses.

1 John 5:10
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

May we forever be about sharing with others what our Lord Jesus Christ has, and still does for all who come to believe in his name.

Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

The church I went to on Sunday had this theme. The basic theme was Identifying "WITH" the heart of God. Jesus had a heart for the sinners and the lost of the world. Luke 15:1-2: Luke 15
1 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

Jesus has authority, and sent us out to preach the gospel under the power of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:18; Acts 1:8.

It was interesting, as the Pastor pointed out, in Acts 1:8
First we are to witness in our own backyard (Jersulem), then to neighboring towns (Judea), and to those we don't really care for(samaria-modern day Palestine), in fact ", and unto the uttermost part of the earth" to all of creation.

This really struck a chord to me. I love to witness to Jesus to people I like even if they are not saved, but how about to someone who persecutes me?

Under the Power of the Holy Spirit, God is able to do what we would consider impossible:

The Pastor brought up the example of Jonah. He said Jonah was a Jew based in Isreal, told to go into the heart of Ninveah (modern day Baghdad). With the war going on, I had to say to myself no wonder Jonah ran in the opposite direction as far as he could go.

I feel that is what I had done. God was refining me and showing me now is the time to leave the comfort of the church that grew me, and it is time to trust Him and proclaim the Gospel. I have been running from God. Silly girl!!! at least I didn't wind up in the fish!

Blessings,

reeann

It is a blessing to be able to share the Word of God with others, and it is also a blessing to live where we can still do this freely.

I just love the story of Jonah Reeann. There's so much more to that story than meets the eye, along with all the others we read in the Bible.

And yes the Lord can give us the courage, strength, and boldness we need in order to share His Word.

If all the messages in our Bible and all the various applications were seperated into individual verses, I have no doubt at all that our world could never come close to containing the books it would require to hold them. I am always amazed when I look at my Bible and see how thin it is and think of the wealth it contains. The Bible is in and of Itself a miracle!

Amen to the Bible being a miracle! The only way such a complete book written over thousands of years with so much depth, and meaning could have been written is through the inspiration of God.
