Hi everyone, I am a Professional Film Maker and also solid Christian who has been in the motion picture industry for over 30 years. I've worked as staff at the International Christian Film Festival as well as on several good quality Christian Films and TV shows as well as major Hollywood Movies and TV series. Over many years I've also lived in Los Angeles off and on briefly and I had taken a year off to spend time with family in Australia post covid.

I'm at a crossroads where I could stay in my comfort zone in Australia and get back to work on major US studio movies being shot down here, but it seems God may be calling me back to Los Angeles.

I have spent a lot of time in Los Angeles praying for God to send missionaries into the studio system, but to also draw out film professionals who are Christians to train up the next generation of Christian filmmakers who are called.

All of the messages I've been hearing lately have been saying about getting out of your comfort zone and trusting God, which I've done many times before with Youth With A Mission. Yet this time the move needs to be permanent which leaves me under no illusions about what that involves in moving back to Los Angeles. I was there in 2020 when they were threatening to invade homes in our neighborhood etc.
I'm really needing to network and need God to really confirm and solidify things practically if He is indeed calling me back to L.A. I'll need a home, a car, and good praying work.

So I want to ask for prayer, for God to really provide confirmation if He is indeed calling me back. For things to solidify everything I need to make the move and any wisdom or words from God that you might hear from God regarding this call.

Fast and pray.

Speaking from my own experience, doors have to be opened and in such a way that it is obvious that it is of God. Be careful, because the adversary prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. This is why I say that it must be obvious that the open door(s) are from God. (Something highly unlikely, and a prompting to walk a certain direction).

Then fast and pray some more.

Edit: Then step out on faith.

You don't need Hollywood to make it as a successful film maker. Today, many people simply start their own productions on Youtube, TikTok, IG, and other social media platforms and make a lot of good money from brand deals, sponsors, adsense, merch, collabs, affiliate marketing, and so many more ways to make revenue.

Have you thought about using your talents to building your own platform and not rely on getting work from Hollywood?

I'd like to point out there are some Christians who are hugely famous / rich by Youtube. DudePerfect I believe are the most successful Christian youtubers. I think Mr. Beast is even a Christian but not self-professing one. Mr. Beast is the #1 YouTuber and makes so much money he can literally give away houses and cars every video which he does. I don't know how he makes so much but he gives away like 100k every video or he buys up entire car dealerships and then resells the cars for $1.

Yeah the doors thing is important, God has usually only given me 2 weeks notice for international moves before. This time is long term so I need work, a car and accommodation. Most of my relationships and spiritual family are in Los Angeles.

Thankfully Satan doesn't call people to serve God in fulfilling the great commission and being a multiplier for missions/ministry.

Time to stay out .... get out of the cities.

I did that already during COVID, and with all due respect, I need to obey God.

I am talking about moving back to Los Angeles and fulfilling my call as a Christian in film. I am already a successful filmmaker of over 30 years. My calling is to build a major Christian film studio and I've already spoken with key people in Los Angeles who have been former studio executives in major studios and who are also Christians.

I am a movie maker and storyteller, not a YouTube, TikTok social media producer. I've worked with Kirk Cameron, Dave and Rich Christiano, TC Stallings, Cameron Arnett and many others. I am at the tip of the spear. God is in the midst of Hollywood, and there are many of us who are missionaries within the studio systems. Money and fame do not drive me, obedience to God does.

I could easily stay here in Australia and work on major Hollywood movies and make lots of money. It is a much harder road to go and obey God on my calling. Movies filmed out here "San Andreas", "Unbroken", "Godzilla vs Kong", "Kong Skull Island", "Elvis", "Mission Impossible TV Series". I myself have worked on "Flipper", "Beastmaster", "The Lost World", "Swimming Upstream" and also worked on the first season of "Big Brother Australia" where I was able to pray through the Big Brother House and as a result the TV show did not have any nasty content, and most moral person in the house won.

I also interviewed at the Prime Minister and Cabinet Office in Australia to be host broadcast manager for the G20 summit that was held in 2016 and also interviewed with SpaceX as content producer for the Starship program to go to Mars.

I have worked with Youth With A Mission, New Tribes Mission, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Central Christian Church, Answers in Genesis (Creation Museum/Ark Encounter), International Christian Film Festival, Don't Say My Name and so much more. I directed the live video portion of the ICFF awards ceremony. One of my friends worked with Steven Spielberg and is himself a solid Christian filmmaker in Los Angeles.

I am a narrative motion picture storyteller, and am developing several feature films and some short films as well including a pro-life movie, a movie about breast cancer, and a short film set on Mars, all faith based.

Listen no one can make a decision like this for you, no one but yourself. If it is on your heart that much slow down put out a fleece and ask GOD! GOD has infinite power and wisdom and HE wants HIS children to succeed and HE loves to give them what they need if they are truly doing HIS will. Before you make such a move I would put out a fleece, pray to your FATHER about it, HE loves you and will answer in HIS time. If you dont know how read the story of Gideon, do just as he did, it works! I can tell you this the place you are going is a viper pit; you best make sure you have power of GOD over you if going as a Christian. CHRIST gave us power over them but know what you doing.
Luk 10:10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
Luk 10:11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

As to whether or not you should go into the lion's den that is Los Angeles, a quote from Milton comes to mind:

"

“I cannot praise a fugitive and cloistered virtue, unexercised and unbreathed, that never sallies out and sees his adversary,"

If you can work among those who would be hostile to your faith, and the good news, you will gain something. You can be a good example to those who live in a place where there are very few good examples.

It sounds like you have done excellent work so far, and have had a strong career

go where you can make the greatest impact
