I think you have missed the topic of this thread. The topic of this thread is not "does racism still exist?" The topic is "Does systemic racism exist?"

If the topic was does racism exist it would be a very short thread. Cause all of us would most likely say yes, racism exists.

So no one here is trying to convince you or anyone that racism does not exist.
Except you

Brave....so brave. Let's hear it for @SilverBear
no one is calling you a racist becasue you are white...sorry to burst you victiumhood bubble.
Oh ok....what about a long history of disparaging and attacking white people??

Could we say those people are racist?
who here is doing that?

That's a reasonable question one would need to ask in response to your statement.

No...it said only 25 were below the minimum standards. It didn't say "we only let these 25 in because of affirmative action and no one else ever benefits from affirmative action".

See the wide difference between what was said and what you claimed?
And the black students considered for admission to Harvard via affirmative action are those who don't meet the minimum criteria of grades and standardized testing but show great potential. You asked just how many of "them" would get into Harvard without affirmative action and you got the answer.

This was a survey from actual managers where they actually admitted to doing it and what they were asked to do by their business.

It's not an article simply looking at statistics without any clarification.
They were asked to stop giving priority to white male applicant's not to give priority to anyone else.

Then admit it does exist. I have seen you deny it more than admit it.

So you can't quote me saying racism doesn't exist. Didn't think so. When you take it back and admit I didn't say that then I will respond with a direct answer as to whether or not I believe racism exists.

If you don't know if it exists or not you don't have any place to comment on racism.

I am being called racist....by someone who stated that maybe I should be ashamed of being white.

I'm not claiming victimhood. I'm just calling out racism.

who here is doing that?

Really? Here as in this thread, forum, or society?

No...I didn't.

There's several numbers that you would need to know to get the answer...

1. How many students reached the highest possible admissions score and were denied?

2. How many students out of those black students reached the highest possible admissions score?

3. If we removed affirmative action, how many of those black students would be replaced by non-black students who were denied?

“Affirmative-action is ‘racism against white people’.” (General rhetorical statement not quoting anybody)
This is about as far as you’re gonna get on this one.

Or how little you care about it

I can't fight your unverified claims of subconscious racism. It's not possible. We can't identify it....certainly can't change it.

What we can fight though....is actual real racism. Like the hiring managers in the survey I linked the article to....

How come you don't seem to care at all about that racism? Because it's happening to white people? It's not like we don't have evidence.....we have hiring managers saying it's happening and why it's happening. We don't need magical mind reading powers to stop this.

As we near 2200 posts on this thread, (well done everyone!), I’m going to boil it down to a crispy-sludge.
Some people have come and asked if we are going to do anything with all of the horse-hockey from all these equines running around, rhetorically-speaking.

And some other people, have said, “what horses?”

That’s far as we’ve gotten, in twelve or so paths.

So, keep “fighting-that-good-fight”, we’ll figure it out one way or another, if we just keep on talking nice to one other.
One side has been talking-nice for longer though.
Guess which one?
That’s right, “our side”!

And that should do it.

False

Yeah, you are.

There are going to be some who bombed their interview but not many.

The only reason i can see why you would want to know is if you wanted to pretend that those few didn't get into Harvard because Harvard needed to make room for black students?
2. How many students out of those black students reached the highest possible admissions score?
Why? Do you think black applicant's to Harvard can't reach the highest possible score?
3. If we removed affirmative action, how many of those black students would be replaced by non-black students who were denied?
Why would Harvard replace student they have aleady judged worthy of attending harvard?

And gaslighting means you lost the claim.

So you agree that systemic racism is real?
