He didn't have one. Todd mentioned the two bills that were in Congress, The George Floyd Act and a Republican one, and suggested that one thing is to outlaw chokeholds and Jordon just said a chokehold wasn't used here. Todd suggested a federal database of cops who have been decertified in a state for bad behavior so other states wouldn't hire them. Jordon said he rather see states do themselves because the feds always screw things up. What? This would be an interstate database used by all states... He didn't have anything to offer. What was his solution?
That's something I've noticed different from the miltary. In the military, when you have a screw-up, the military takes definite steps to train people not to screw up that way again. The Air Force will ground all planes until the training is completed. In the Navy, they will even halt every ship at sea dead in the water all at once to have them give such training to all sailors, and the ship isn't allowed to get back underway until the captain verifies that every sailor has gotten the new training.
Police forces in the US seem never to acknowledge a training issue. They will always chalk an error up to the particular circumstances of that situation and never look at how a change in training could avoid similar incidents in the future.

A complete overhaul then. Rethink the entire system.According to Jim Jordon yesterday on Meet the Press, no amount of training or new laws can fix this kind of evil.
If it's black, fight back. The advice I gave is similar to the the advice given for surviving a bear attack.
"If a grizzly/brown bear charges and attacks you, PLAY DEAD. Do not fight back! Cover your head and neck with your hands and arms. Lay flat on your stomach, and spread your legs apart."
Bear Attacks (U.S. National Park Service)
What's different is that they were fired right away instead of being placed on paid leave pending investigation. Also probably since none of the cops directly involved were white it makes a difference, compared to the usual white cops kill black man.
Wait, are you talking about bears? If it's black, fight back.
If it's brown, lie down.
If it's white, good night.
I was wondering too, until I started pondering on the "lie down" part. Lol.Wait, are you talking about bears?
And you typically don't get in trouble for defending yourself against a bear.I don’t think surviving any encounter with police should need to be compared to surviving a bear attack.

If I get rushed by a bear intent on doing me harm while I'm hiking, and I use force up to and including shooting it to defend myself, I'm unlikely to face any charges. I think it's safe to say the same outcome doesn't apply when dealing with cops who are threatening you or abusing power.
That's an excellent point...bears don't have walkie talkies they can use to call in other bears to help them if they start losing the fight. But good luck proving it, provided you even survive your attempt at self defense.
