Not really. It says "acknowledge; confess". That is, not just acknowledge, but acknowledge with a twist. As such, I'd say your interlocutor is still wrong.

Apart from having its basis in God, our morality will be subjective and relative. There's nothing wrong with it being subjective since Christianity acknolwedges that the "law" is written in our consciences anyway. The problem is that we easily enough doubt and overide our own consciences, while when that same law is connected to a "bigger" authority than ourselves- the creator of ourselves and all that is- then the basis of our morality is on a different-and much more solid ground.

In Eden it's said that man essentially divorced himself from that Authority and we believe that the unnecessary and excessive evil that we witness to everyday in our world-and participate in to one degree or another- is the result. And we believe and attest that this Authority is knowable, for the betterment of all.

And the commanmdensts, for example, make sense especially when they're understood as being based on love. We can disbelieve in love, or fail to view it as important, but understanding that the commandments are based on it at least gives clearer insight into their foundation and a more objective reason behind their existence.

So the bible says to do it. Then the bible says not to do it. And in some wierd way you say that's a 'fixed point'. It literally goes from one position to another that is diametrically opposite.

Let me see if I've got this straight. God established a fixed point for right and wrong, but then He gave Christians a free pass to violate that fixed point. Sounds a bit like something Trump would do, grant amnesty to anyone who does what he asks, while condemning everybody else for doing the exact same thing.
