This is real and not merely sore loser talk. As you might expect, the perp is denying everything, but it's a matter of public record.

DO AS I SAY: Georgia GOP candidate for state office accused of voter fraud

Brian Pritchard — a Republican talk show host and candidate for Georgia House — broke a state law against voting by people convicted of a felony.
The North Georgia conservative was on probation for felony forgery and theft when he illegally voted at least nine times while still serving his sentence.

“I’ve not done anything wrong here,” Pritchard claimed – but state law says otherwise.
Pritchard is nonetheless running in a special election to fill the seat left vacant by former Georgia House Speaker David Ralston who passed away in November, where he faces the deceased former representative’s widow, Sheree Ralston, for the open seat.
In 1996, the election-denying wannabe politician pleaded guilty to three counts of forgery and one count of theft by failure to make a required disposition of funds – all felonies – in Pennsylvania’s Allegheny County.
Pritchard agreed to $33,000 in restitution and to serve probation as part of his sentence.

OK so if the source is accurate, doubtful, why has he not been charged and convicted?

Brian K. Pritchard allegedly voted nine times while on felony probation

So they'll have to check and see if he actually did vote, and then charge him. Looks like the paper already checked, though.

I don't really trust the Atlanta Journal Constitution, but I trust them more that the linked source. They have the same story here: Talk show host and Georgia House candidate accused of illegal voting

Saying that Prichard voted nine times is essentially correct, but note it was nine times since 2008 and not nine time in the same election. Be that as it may, while Prichard states he had his voting rights restored, he is alleged to have cast votes before this happened. If true, that's a no-no.

It also seems to be a recent story, so if it is true, there hasn't been time to file charges, much less for it to go to a grand jury.

That particular no-no is a felony each time he did it. I guess there will be an investigation, but it the paper was able to find it, I would says that Prichard has a huge problem. On the other hand, he wouldn't have to worry about housing and groceries for a while.

So there is not case as far as you know now but you passed along a potentially inaccurate report anyway.

He voted while still on probation for a felony. Which is another felony in the state in which he voted. He claims that he somehow got his record clear, but the newspaper says otherwise. We'll have to see how that works out. Since he's an election denier, the odds of him telling the truth are pretty slim, aren't they?

Oh my gosh an "election denier" Some people would say that is almost subhuman, right? Those "election deniers" are the worst people on earth, there is no justification for their existence, They must be the very most vile people, along with all those others who simply do not agree with how we see the world and then some people complain about hate or denigrating terms being used to discernible others that they hold some predigest towards.

Usually, people just say "anti-American."

You're projecting, now. It's a little window into your thinking.

I would suggest that it is a window into the lack of thinking of some others.

I don't think that people who have served their prison sentence shouldn't be allowed to vote. That includes probation. If the law thinks you are responsible enough to be reintegrated into society, you should have a say in the politics that govern society.

In germany, even prisoners are allowed to vote in elections if they are german citizens.

In many cases, you're right. However, the law is what it is. And this guy apparently doesn't care if he commits election fraud.

You know what would stop election fraud like this? If every voter had to carry a voter ID and had to present it at their place of voting, with their name on a list of eligible voters. No name on the list -> no voting allowed.

The problem is that the state often put up barriers to obtaining such a card. Often, it is set so that one must pay to get documents required to get the card, or one must take off time from work to get them.

A list of eligible voters, checked by any sort of state-issued ID would be sufficient. As cases in the U.S. have shown, voter fraud is rare, but the sort of fraud we do see, generally would not have been prevented by voter ID.

Over here in germany, having an ID is compulsory after you turn 16, and yes, you have to pay some money to get one and office hours are usually during normal work time, so you have to do that during vacation.

Then again, people over here actually have a right to vacations.

Things are different there. Our Constitution forbids the state from making any ID a requirement. In fact, absent a reasonable suspicion of crime or operation of a motor vehicle, police can't even demand to see an ID.

Because the attorney general's office is getting its ducks in a row.

At the end of that hearing, the [elections] board voted to bind the case over to the Attorney General’s Office and Gilmer County’s District Attorney’s Office. Gilmer County is a part of the Appalachian Judicial Circuit, which also includes Fannin and Pickens counties.

DCN is awaiting clarification from the Appalachian Judicial Circuit District Attorney B. Alison Sosebee about whether or not her office has an active case against Pritchard.

“We are requesting that a hearing be scheduled by the Office of State Administrative Hearings, and we look forward to presenting the case against Brian Pritchard,” attorney general’s office communications director Kara Richardson wrote in a Dec. 1 email.
