That's a decent price.. I have lived in places that I got my rent out low... But I also had complications later on because the place was so old that the foundation had sunk in and the crawl space was coming up into the house. it made my eyes swell and I got very sick and I have no idea that was the problem for 3 years till I moved out. But I take it that you are splitting the rent with others?
Yes, we may even be able to afford an ISP.

That's key, for me. A budget tells me what I have to expend. The closer I track my spending, the more I have to save. Always.

Same, mine is more complex though. I have mine 15 months planned out and adjust 1-2x a week.
I like keeping it simple, myself. Rent and certain bills will be constant. Certain other bills will be variable, so I budgeted on the high side for those, I'll be paying that or less. I automatically put away money for savings with every paycheck. Car maintenance was already averaged out. It all gives me less to have to think about, so all I have to remember is the gas & grocery spending per week. And the rest isn't spent, so I have it.

I buy most of my food from Azure and get the rest from the farmers market and Costco. I used to shop at Whole Foods but it isn’t the same. They carry an Amish dairy brand I like but we’re switching to raw milk soon.

Azure is my favorite. I place my order online and it arrives at a designated meeting place every month. I don’t have to go to the store and I can buy in greater quantities for a lower price than other retailers. They’re the largest independent ‘grocer’ in America and the product selection is great. You’ll find things from them that aren’t available elsewhere at affordable prices. I love the variety.

Most importantly, its a Christian company and I respect their values and commitment to godly business practices. That’s why I support them.

Update for post #37.

Junked out my Grand Marquis at 420,000 miles, spring of 2022. Bought another Grand Marquis, 2003 LS, with 110,000 miles. Paid $7000 for it (it is 'cherry'). Likely the last car I'll ever buy. Still cutting my own hair and getting really good at it. I'm now getting the hair cut I want, that my barber was never able to do for me. He always cut the back too short. I hate that 'skinned rat' look.

I bought 2lbs of fresh foie gras from Fortnum & Mason - then decided I didn't want it. So I fed it to the cats in the alley.

Saves it going to waste.
Can’t tell if you’re joking or not, but Fortnum discontinued my favourite biscuits and I’m fuming

I saved money today because it was too darn cold to stand at a slow-moving gas pump that took five minutes to give me 4 gallons. I don't know why the coldest/windiest places on earth are gas stations, but let's just say I didn't fill up lol.

If I find a fast pump I try to remember it for next time, although others have the same thought as that pump is almost always being used when I want to fill up.

Packing my own lunch instead of "fast food" or restaurants.

Made coffee to bring with me instead of getting a latte on my way or on lunch break.

Driving very light on the gas and very carefully to maximize gas mileage, also eliminating unnecessary trips/errands, and i only shop for what I need, I dont shop for fun. This one hurt a lot. I LOVE driving-- it's probably my favorite hobby. I love just getting in the car on my days off, and cruising to my Playlist, going across the bridge and out of town to hit the cool stores, and just going place to place to see all the neat stuff and pick up a few things here and there, grab a coffee and lunch in-between stops. Hit the grocery store last on the way home and make some huge extravagant meal... Haven't gotten to do that in forever.

I've tightened up on my breaks as well, not just because I hardly ever get to take them, lol- but I've stopped buying snacks and stuff, and just stick to my sparkling water.

I've almost completely stopped buying video games. It takes something special or a really good deal to get me to buy games now. For instance, I had to get Pokemon Scarlet a few days ago, because Pokemon!!! Lol

100% joking.

I think only those who live in or near London would understand it. Just 250g of foie gras is like £95.

It's not even nice.
