You know from what I read Sabbath and the Lord's Day Sunday. They never changed it

. "He then lay in the grave for the duration of the Sabbath and resurrects anew on the 1st day of the week (sunday). " Are we talking just about His body? He was doing something those 3 days. When Christ said "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." He means just that. God is the example. We work and work so.. "hey take a day off YOU need it. That day? Yeah was made for you". Lol yeah a tad simple but you understand. For me its not looking at it through my eyes but His. Its always for our good.. seems He was is always will be looking out for us.

As for keep it holy, that day we take off again for me everything I do think say feel I am, always want to be thinking of Him giving Him all the glory and praise. Yet knowing He came to give me life and give it more abundantly. It ok to live this life, have fun yet always thinking giving Him praise glory and allowing Him to lead and guide you. Father forgive us for we really took this Sabbath and made it burden.

Worshipping God on His holy day is a burden? A solemn day of rest a burden, really? The Lord claims keeping the Sabbath is a blessing and a delight Isaiah 5:13-14- I agree, but it does require prioritizing our lifestyle so we put Him first so we can obey, which I guess may be the main reason people take issue with this commandment, its the one commandment we have to do something, the others are the thou shalt nots.

Yes, Jesus rose on Sunday, but where is the scripture that says this changed the commandment? I can’t find that verse in the scriptures. We do have Luke 23:56 that proves nothing changed, plus Acts 18;4, Acts 13:44, Matthew 24:20, Isaiah 66:22-23

Thanks for the kind words. I can see how people have made certain aspects and rules in Christianity burdensome when in fact they should bring freedom. James 2:12 "Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom,"

I think the main message should be focusing on God, but I used to feel like Sabbath meant I couldn't do anything. I've found that there is a balance and it's not always easy but when my focus is putting God first, finding rest from God's work, and enjoying the Sabbath it has gotten easier over the years. Asking for the day off that I honor God on hasn't always been easy but I feel blessed when I do and I am thankful to God for it. I see Jesus in so much that I do I feel thankful that He rewards us and multiplies like bread the little we do for Him. At the end of the day our goal is a closer relationship with Jesus and His children. Jesus would get mad at the pharisees because they focused so intently on law and missed the whole picture which was Jesus. John 5:39 "You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!"

The Sabbath was given specifically to the children of Israel
Exodus 31:16
(16) Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

Leviticus 24:8
(8) Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.

God never made a covenant with the Gentiles. All covenants have been with Israel, not just the Sabbath commandment. There is no Jew or Gentile in God’s covenant promise, just those in Christ. Galatians 3:26-28

Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

The Sabbath is never called the Sabbath of the Jews, it is the holy day and Sabbath of the Lord thy God Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:10, Isaiah 58:13 that Jesus said was made for mankind. Mark 2:27

I don’t know about you, but I want to be one of God’s people and we should not write ourselves out of God’s covenant promise where He writes all of His laws in our hearts and minds, including the Sabbath commandment.

Nice straw man you have put together. If you feel that you must observe the seventh day Sabbath by all means do it, I never said otherwise.
But Jesus is my Passover lamb. I don't have to offer a lamb every year.

1 Corinthians 5:6-7
(6) Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
(7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
Also, Jesus is my Sabbath rest,
Matthew 11:28-30
(28) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
(29) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
(30) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Shabbat means rest!

Nothing strawman about my post and it is in response to your post showing that the Sabbath is part of God’s covenant promise that was made to Israel, that both Jews and Gentiles are part of, if in Christ per Gal 3:26-28. Your whole post was about the Sabbath is only made to Israel, but as shown- all of God’s law is given through His Spirit written in the hearts and minds of God’s people made to Israel. You changed the argument instead of addressing that.

The Sabbath commandment has nothing to do with sacrificing lambs. Here is the scripture for your reference and you will find not one mention of any sacrificial lambs or food offerings.

Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

The Sabbath is about communion with God on His holy day as also as also shown in Isaiah 58:13. God wants us to keep holy the same day that is holy to Him because we are made in His image and are to follow Him. The Sabbath is part of the Ten Commandments Exodus 34:28 and breaking one of these commandments is like breaking them all James 2:10-12

There is no scripture that says Jesus is the Sabbath and we can now break the 4th commandment and the scripture you quoted certainly does not say that. God said the seventh day is the Sabbath Exodus 20:10, and that is the only day we are commanded to rest from our work and keep holy. If everyday was God’s holy day of rest we would all starve because no work can be done on the Sabbath- God said six days we are to do all thy work and labors Exodus 20:9, but the seventh day is God’s holy day and we are to rest from our work on the seventh day so we can keep it holy doing the ways of the Lord and not our ways so no secular work. Isaiah 58:13

Jesus kept the commandments including the Sabbath and was in the Temple reading the Word of God on the Sabbath as our example to follow. We are told to follow the Lamb and keep the commandments of God 1 John 5:3, Revelation 14:15, John 14:15, which of course includes the Sabbath commandment that God deems as My commandments right in the Ten.i.e God’s commandment. Exodus 20:6
