I thought this was an excellent article ~ and was surprised to see that it is even posted on a GOVERNMENT SITE.

"Our prescription drugs are the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer in the United States and Europe. Around half of those who die have taken their drugs correctly; the other half die because of errors, such as too high a dose or use of a drug despite contraindications. Our drug agencies are not particularly helpful, as they rely on fake fixes, which are a long list of warnings, precautions, and contraindications for each drug, although they know that no doctor can possibly master all of these. Major reasons for the many drug deaths are impotent drug regulation, widespread crime that includes corruption of the scientific evidence about drugs and bribery of doctors, and lies in drug marketing, which is as harmful as tobacco marketing and, therefore, should be banned. We should take far fewer drugs, and patients should carefully study the package inserts of the drugs their doctors prescribe for them and independent information sources about drugs such as Cochrane reviews, which will make it easier for them to say "no thanks"."

I had to stop taking my bp meds (snake venom) because it was screwing up my blood pressure (a cruel irony). Bp is all good now, resting 122/65.

This is true. Some drugs don’t work. The mental health industry prescribed pills that can not make a person sane or increase intelligence.

I have to take statins as I am over 60 with a history of elevated cholesterol. Studies showed statin usage reduced heart attacks and mortality in people over 60. Younger people had fewer heart attacks, thus statins do not seem to help them as much.

Good nutrition is more important than drugs. There are exceptions. Jimmy Carter is the oldest president to ever live. He got cancer and they had a new cancer treatment that saved his life. When Trump got COVID, he went to a hospital and got monoclonal antibody treatment that helped him recover quickly. I took Imodium that cured me of diarrhea. I went fishing in the GOM offshore with my brother. The waves were high and we got sea sick. He gave me a dramamine that reduced the nausea.

Many times those with high cholesterol can lower it dramatically by cutting out animal products. Some people genetically make alot of cholesterol but most people, they have too much from eating the wrong foods. :) And there are some really good natural things that work for cholesterol too, like Red Yeast Rice.

Wow! The 3rd leading cause of death!
Half those who died were just following doctor's orders. Do vaccine mandates ring a bell? Modern healthcare is about as useful as leeching. No, I"d rather take my chances with a leech than risk death from modern medicine.

Plants are medicines. Diet is a key to good health. Natural remedies are best.

My total cholesterol was normal. My triglycerides and LDL a little high. I had some junk food in my kitchen before my annual checkup. Am trying to eliminate it again. I had lentils, broccoli, sweet potato, quinoa and beyond meat sprinkles for lunch. I got a little cholesterol from two servings of sardines per week. I think my liver made too much cholesterol. Reducing vegetable oil might help. The blueberry cheerios were a mistake. I think the pizza delivery I ordered did some damage. I may need to check my blood pressure more often to get me back towards a narrow path.

Drugs that seek to supersede the way God created our bodies to function are simply pharmakeia. Those that work within godly parameters may do some good, if they are properly prescribed and used (which is another potential problem).

Medicine has fads of belief and "science" because it's made up of human beings. Unfortunately, medicine and science tend to also attract a high concentration of those who are in it for the power, prestige, and presumed-greater intelligence, which is never good of course.

Even for cholesterol, as one example, the science isn't actually firm that it's a bad thing, or that eating less meat makes a difference, and so on. There are "studies", of course, that show just about anything one wants to show. But most "scientific" studies are biased toward those who paid for the study, or who need to "publish or perish", and so on. Then they become ensconced in bureaucracy and are there, often causing great amounts of obvious but ignored damage, until gradually replaced by the next "scientific" fad of belief.

The "mental health" industry is the most obvious example of this. But it's in "regular" medicine and even in naturopathy and so on, as well.

We need less "intelligence" and more "wisdom", for our bodily health.

I think the ancients were correct, that most health problems originate in the gut. Little real attention is paid to it today, but the individual can study it and use the knowledge to improve their health.

There was a fierce legal battle between FDA, medical institutions against a doctor who invented a cure for cancer back in the 90's

This revealed a can of worms that FDA and medical institutions are only after money, not as much on technological progress. That they would rather prefer a drug that is expensive, difficult to manufacture, with a cocktail of serious side effects - if it made them more money.

The problem was found to be worse in USA than other countries like Canada and many other countries in Europe with similarly advanced medical capability but with free healthcare.

While money can help in technological progress, unchecked greed of money can also sabotage all those efforts.

The American culture is socially engineered to be unhealthy as possible. Obsession with cars to the point of using cars on short commutes that can be accomplished by walking or bicycle. Obsession with food and eating. I mean even if you're eating healthy foods but eat too much of it in quantity is also bad. An unhealthy populace makes money that's why.

I would be shocked if you can support this claim about a "doctor who invented a cure for cancer back in the 90s".

It will interesting to examine the credibility of your source(s).

If you can watch the whole 2 hr video. Mostly courtroom drama of legal battles. Actually, it's a nice documentary. Recommended watch.

Don't skip a second of this video! It highlights the money greed problem of American medical cartels over actually curing people of cancer in the most efficient means possible. That was decades ago however. Things may have improved, maybe not.

I have no idea if they can support the claim, but it has been happening for real, beyond most people's belief, like ripples believe it or don't, for over a century.

Just look for places where people have been healed, and watch what happened to those places, and to those who were healing people. It is not a good story for the world
Can you provide any examples, with credible supporting evidence?

One debating strategy that pops up from time to time in these threads is to post a lengthy video in support of a dubious claim. And when we refuse to invest 2 hours (in this case) in watching the video, we are accused of not fairly evaluating the evidence. One could use this strategy to appear to have made the case for any wild claim - I could claim that unicorns frolic in South American forests, post a 2 hour video from some exceedingly dubious source that argues for the existence of these one-horned wonders, and then claim the high ground when others reject my claim without watching the video.

While it is, of course, possible that this long video will support your claim, it is highly unlikely that this will be the case.

What do mainstream, credible sources have to say about Doctor Burzynski? From wikipedia:

The Burzynski Clinic is a clinic offering an unproven cancer treatment, which has been characterized as harmful quackery.[1] It was founded in 1976 and is located in Houston, Texas, in the United States. It offers a form of chemotherapy called "antineoplaston therapy" devised by the clinic's founder Stanislaw Burzynski in the 1970s. Antineoplaston is Burzynski's term for a group of urine-derived peptides, peptide derivatives, and mixtures. There is no accepted scientific evidence of benefit from antineoplaston combinations for various diseases

We can both agree that FDA and the medical industry takes quackery very seriously and they see Burzynski as such.

But after many decades of legal battles against Burzynski, he still got his license and continues practicing medicine.

I'm not here to debate but don't you find the situation incredibly ridiculous? How can such ridiculous thing happen?
