Who is going in the rapture ?

You have probably heard many people say that Christians who aren't obedient enough or who are back slidden will not be taken in the rapture and will be left behind to suffer during the 7 year tribulation.

These self righteous people make out only super Christians who are living holy will be the only ones worthy enough to go in the rapture. Well I'm sure you'll be glad to hear that it is very easy to be included in this great event, all you need to do is accept Jesus Christ as your saviour.

This is simply done by putting your faith and trust in that he died and shed his blood to pay the penalty you for your sins and that he rose again. (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14)

That's all it is, don't be fooled by this heresy being preached by many today that only Christians who meet a certain standard of holiness will be taken while other believers will be left behind, I will further explain why this is not so.

First off we are all wretched sinners and the only reason why a believer is taken in the rapture is solely upon Gods grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is because of Jesus Christ that God can even look upon us and declare us righteous and not by anything we do.

Romans 3:23-24

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

So we can see salvation has nothing to with our own behaviour or goodness as we will always fall short, but only through what Christ has done for us on that cross.

In this next passage of scripture the apostle Paul talks about the restraining force that is currently preventing the antichrist from being revealed and therefore hindering the tribulation period from occurring.

2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 KJV

[6] And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. [7] For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. [8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

The Body of Christ is the restrainer that Paul is talking about. In this current age if you have placed your faith in Christ Jesus death and shed blood as atonement for your sins then you are a part of the body of Christ. God placed you into this group at the moment of salvation when you first believed.

1 Corinthians 12:13

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one BODY, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

So knowing that the body of Christ is the restraining force that is “withholding” the antichrist from being revealed it must be taken out of the way first in order for this terrible time to begin. So If God even left just one member of the body of Christ behind the restrainer would still be on the earth and 2 Thessalonians 6-7 would be left unfulfilled.

Every saved believer within the body of Christ is indwelt and permanently sealed by God with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption (rapture), this can never be reversed. So once you have received this spirit you will definetly be raptured

Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV

[13] In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, [14] Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Other people will then try to use scriptures like the parable of the 10 virgins and twist it to suit there own ideology. The parable of the 10 virgins has absolutely nothing to with Christians during this present dispensation of grace and has everything to do with Jewish believers during the tribulation period who turn to Christ after the rapture.

This parable was given by Christ specifically to the nation of Israel forewarning them on what they would need to do during this terrible time as after the rapture has taken place there will be no more grace for those left on earth and salvation we be of faith plus works again as God will shift his focus from the Gentiles back to the nation of Israel and resume his dealings with them.

When Jesus was here on Earth he only came specifically to redeem the nation of Israel.

Matthew 10:5-7

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Matthew 15:24

"I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."

Therefore Jesus during his earthly ministry (Matthew mark, Luke John) did not preach anything related to the body of Christ under the dispensation of grace as it was a mystery hidden before the foundation of the world that was only revealed to Paul and to Paul only, and this was because the Jews rejected Jesus as their messiah.

Ephesians 3:9

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Colossians 1:26

Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

Ephesians 3:2-7

2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

We must keep scripture in context, again as I just stated when Jesus was telling the parable of the ten virgins he was not referring to the church, he was referring to the Jews that would be here at the end of the tribulation period and what they must do to survive.

In this age we are saved by grace through faith and nothing else and this includes the rapture. There are dangerous consequences for adding works whether it’s for being included in the rapture or requirements to salvation. At the judgement seat of Christ we will have to give an account, and unfortunately those who taught false doctrine or added works to doctrines of grace will suffer loss of reward but will still be saved.

1 Corinthians 3:14-15 KJV

[14] If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. [15] If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Anyways I hope this post has encouraged you to be excited about the rapture. God bless and continue to look up because Jesus is coming back very soon.

First, welcome to the forums.

The idea of a rapture -as you have described it- has only been around since the mid-1800s or so and has no foundation in scripture or the history of the Church. It is a modern invention.

apparently evil people will be "taken away" like in Noah's flood.

(Matthew 24)

That's more the case. The idea is to be "left behind" rather than be taken away.

(Matthew 24)
If I recall in Luke, the disciples asked Jesus "where Lord." IOWs where will they be taken?
Certainly not heaven. To the contrary:
"Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. "
The context is that the body is dead, and the eagles (vultures) will eat the dead bodies of those who have been "taken.".
Dakes thinks this is after the battle of Armageddon. The battlefield is about 50 miles north of Jerusalem.

Revelation 19:17-18
17. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18. That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

The contemporary parallel to draw comparison is this thing new age people tend to call "ascension" it happens quite often, they think they'll be saved by alien intervention .. but end up getting demon possessed instead.

So you believe there are no fake Christians (people pretending to be something they are not)? I believe that the five wise virgins are those sealed with the Holy Spirit (the Bride of Christ). And that the five foolish virgins are the ones devoid of the Holy Spirit (the pretenders). Why are the five foolish virgins asking for oil and are told to require it on their own? They realize the rapture is happening but know in their heart that they have never accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.

These are the people who rely on church to be filled up spiritually, they are unable to get it from God directly.

No.
The faithful Christian peoples will be taken to a place of safety for the 1260 day time of Satanic [the 'beast'] control.
Jesus gathers then to Him when He Returns. Matthew 24:30-31
For many years the fear of "missing the rapture" has been used as a tool of evangelism.
Those false teachers will pay heavily, on the Day of Judgment. James 3:1

Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Obviously, there are two groups of ppl in view here in verse 17.

1) the woman

2) the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Obviously, one group is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent, while the other group isn't. It is group 1) that pertains to verse 14. And if according to you the woman is meaning faithful Christians, does that mean group 2), the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ, that these are unfaithful Christians the fact verse 14 is not pertaining to these?

Them to be taken in the rapture will be them who have hope and belief in the resurrection of them in Christ and them in Christ who are alive - to be called up, translated in a twinkling of an eye - to be received by Christ and taken to heaven, where there are many mansions in the place Jesus has prepared for them who believe in the blessed hope our salvation - to escape the great tribulation that will take place here on earth. And as the bride of Christ, to accompany Jesus when He returns to earth from heaven in power and great glory.,

And as the bride of Christ, to accompany Jesus when He returns to earth from heaven in power and great glory.,

Let's assume the scenario you are proposing is plausable.

Assuming your proposed scenario, this means there will be those left behind when the rapture occurs, apparently unbelieving Jews and that some of them become saved during the great tribulation. Some of them will be killed, yet not all of them will be. Some will still be alive when Christ returns.

This means that the ones still alive can't be the bride of Christ since the bride of Christ accompanies Jesus when He returns to the earth. Nor can anyone saved during the trib then killed, be any of the dead that rises first. That resurrection event already happened during the rapture that occurs before the great tribulation. And since Revelation 20 only knows of two resurrection events, these saved during the trib apparently don't live again until after the thousand years, thus Jesus apparently leaves their souls in heaven since there is not another resurrection event of the dead until after the thousand years.

IOW, so many contradictions involving this view that I can't believe I actully held this position in the past, meaning a Pretrib rapture. But I have an excuse. I didn't know any better at the time. I just believed anything my church taught me without even questioning it. There was no one at the time providing other options, such as a Post trib rapture, meaning the churches I was attending, and that this is meaning before the time of the internet. Somehow, in spite of that, once I began checking the Scriptures for myself, eventually I realized that a Pretrib rapture is not in the Bible anywhere, and that I realized this before the time of the internet.

Apparently, Pretribbers, like Amils do, insist that the first resurrection recorded in Revelation 20, that this is not meaning when the dead in Christ rise first(1 Thessalonians 1:4).

Scripture that says this please?

Both groups are Christians:

The holy people of God, now every faithful Christian, who will be living in peace and prosperity in all of the holy Land, Isaiah 62:1-12, do get taken over by the leader of the One World Govt; the Anti-Christ, as described in Zechariah 14:1-2, Daniel 7:25, Revelation 13:5-8

This will happen at the midpoint of the last 7 years before Jesus Returns and it is because they failed to trust solely on the Lord for their protection.

Daniel 9:27 and Isaiah 28:14-15 tell of a treaty, a peace treaty for a seven year period, made between ‘many’ of the citizens of Beulah and the leader of the OWG, that God calls; a treaty with death.
We see in Daniel 11:32, how the Christians are divided into 2 groups, those who agreed to this seven year peace treaty with the AC, and those who refused to violate their covenant with God. This conquest and division of the Lord’s people, at the mid point of the seven years, is seen in Zechariah 14:1-2 and Revelation 13:5-7

Then in Revelation 12:6-17, those two groups of Christians are described; the faithful ones are taken to a place of safety during the 3 1/2 years, [or 42 months or 1260 days] and the other group remain, as per Revelation 12:17.
They will face persecution and many will be killed ,but provided they kept strong in their faith, they will be resurrected when Jesus Returns; Revelation 20:4

Then Jesus Returns, destroys the Anti-Christ's army and chains him up. Jesus sends out His angels to gather His people from their place of safety and all who have refused the mark of the beast, Matthew 24:31, to where He is; that is in Jerusalem, from where He will rule the world for 1000 years.

Absolute unbelievable rubbish.
This sci-fi belief of going to live in heaven and returning with Christ, is a fable that can never happen.
Even just thinking it could be possible, demonstrates a serious lack of Bible understanding and of our role in God's Plan for mankind.

Who is going in the rapture ????!!

Only those who are left after the Tribulation and prior to the Wrath of God complete destruction of the earth as the Bible teaches it.
In no way does Jesus destroy the world when He Returns. He comes to rule over it.
