I would like to ask for prayers for my next-older sibling, Georganna (Georgi). She's had a tough time for the last couple years, but the last month has been pretty bad....my niece has found her disoriented and confused, once on the floor, and she's been in and out of the ER at least three times in the last week and a half.
The doctors have determined that her liver is completely shot; she's not going to get better, but at best she might hang in there for a couple of years (although the doctors say she probably won't last that long). They're trying to figure out the best course of action for her now, whether it's hospice or home health care.....my niece is a retired R.N. and is available to see to her care; it just depends on how long she remains with us as to whether they bring in other caretakers for her.
I always tell her that I'm praying for her, and she always says, "Thank you, Wayne (my given name), I will take all the prayers I can get."
So, if you feel so inclined, I would appreciate your prayers for her, that she will remain comfortable and as pain-free as possible for the rest of the time she has with us. And, say some prayers for her daughters and grandkids. And most especially for my oldest niece, Laurie, the R.N.; ever since she retired a few years ago, her focus has been on taking care of her mom, whom she has always been very close to. When my sister finally does pass on, it's going to be very hard on Laurie; she calls me every couple days with updates and she always ends up crying at some point during the call.
Anyway, thanks, guys; I appreciate the prayers and I know they will as well.
God bless all here,
---Wols.
