Russian state media link, for those who believe only Russia: Путин обратился к жителям России, Донбасса и освобожденных территорий

NYT link: Ukraine Live Updates: Putin Calls Up More Troops as His War Effort Falters

Another desperate, murderous scramble to assemble soldiers to send them to murder civilians in another country for absolutely no benefit to anyone. Except the temporary benefit of keeping Putin in power a while longer.

That's why all these people have to die. So a middle manager who has been entrusted with the function of "tsar" can keep his job.

This is in God's hands, whether or not Putin acknowledges it.
But even in these times, God is merciful.
Even in his old age, God gave a vision to John that contained a glimpse of Heaven. And there John saw the oceans of martyrs, too numerous to count, who had died believing in God.

It was sad, but at the same time there was hope that in the End, Satan and his evil plans would not triumph.

And we can say the same thing today.
Even though it is sad to see the hundreds and thousands of people dying at the hands of Putin, that God has not forgotten them, and that their deaths will be accounted for:
They will not have died in vain, nor will they be forgotten.
God will dry their tears and calm their pain and fear. In Heaven, they will be welcomed, and tenderly cared for.:groupray:

He is calling up reservists, drafting young men and recruiting in Ukraine and Russia, including in the prisons. He and his government passed a law requiring mandatory prison sentences for deserters and those who surrender.
Putin announces a partial military mobilization for Russian citizens

The U.S. has been giving Ukraine weapons faster than it can replenish them. The economy is geared for peacetime, not a large scale war.

People in Europe are stealing firewood as households try to stock up on cord wood for the coming winter.

I'm watching the Netflix series, "Undercover," which is Dutch made. The words are dubbed in English, which is usually a turn off for me, but this is a good series. It is also based on a true story, according to the reviews.

Anyway, I just started watching Season 2, and it's about gun running out of Brussels. I had to look up things to verify what the movie was showing, but
some links that went back to 2015, had articles about US made weapons being sold on the black market out of Ukraine, to Syrian rebel groups fighting Assad's military forces. Russia backed Assad to fight the rebel groups. Obama refused to supply rebel groups with weapons, fearing they'd end up in anti-American rebel groups like ISIS. He was attacked for not helping the rebel groups, remember?

Later our Congress impeached Donald Trump, because he didn't trust the Ukraine government and held up $400,000 that congress had approved. He was impeached for what witnesses say they heard Trump say on a telephone conversation. None were actually on the phone with Trump.

Anyway, the sale of US weapons still continues in Ukraine, as separatist forces now sell US made weapons on the black market. Yeah, they keep many to fight the Russians, but the corruption still goes on and we're paying for it. There are photos of US Stinger Missiles held by rebel groups in Syria. Oh and BTW, Iraq, and
Saudi Arabia are also involved in selling weapons to our enemies.

So, Biden gave Ukraine over $30 billion in military aid once again and Zelensky wants more.

My assessment of this president is that he is corrupt, naive or stupid. The last two accusations are probably closer to the truth than the first.

Now the Democrats are focused on indicting Trump and dragging the supposed scandal out to the mid-term elections in November.

The world is more corrupt than what we're told by our government and media. The collapse on morality in the US and Western Societies, allows corruption to happen and kept out of public sight. Meanwhile, our government, media and institutions of higher education are focused on the absurd.

The rumors about Stinger missiles being sold in the black market were fact checked and found to be false.
Fact check: have Ukrainian Stingers been found in Germany?

Trump Inc has already been indicted and convicted of fifteen crimes including tax evasion. The New York AG announced a lawsuit today against Trump family members alleging fraud. Some overstated their net worth to try to get bank loans. It is called bank fraud.

There seems to be little concern about easily obtained assault rifles being taken across the U.S. border illegally to Mexican drug gangs. Not enough is being done to require universal back ground checks to prevent gun sales to convicted felons and those adjudicated insane.

I am sure Putin is upset about Ukraine getting weapons to defend their homeland. Putin should not have threatened to behead the Ukrainian leaders in the first place. He should not have asked NATO to leave Eastern Europe. It was like a Soviet revolution supported by the KGB secret police.

The denial was started by an official from the Ukraine, and the discovery was back in 2015, before Trump was president.

Even President Obama was heavily criticized for not providing aid to the rebel groups inside Syria. He stated that the groups we could support, aren't strong
enough to defend themselves against anti-American groups like ISIS, so he refused to send them weapons. In the end though, he was politically forced to.

FYI, I no longer trust some of the factcheck sites as they've been exposed to spinning stories and your source has spin all over it.

You should criticize Russia for selling weapons to Iran as they backed Hezbollah.
Is Iran going on an arms shopping spree in Moscow?

True, however unlike us, Iran and Russia were fighting ISIS. Turkey aided
ISIS and is part of NATO. FYI, the illegal gun market goes through
Ukraine, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and even Iraq.

As long as the US Weapons industry is making lots of money on wars, they will continue to sell weapons to nations the US approves, like Ukraine.

Whataboutism is on steroids in the West.

You are not well informed. Earlier this year the U.S. killed an ISIS leader in Syria. The U.S. has fought Al Qaeda, ISIS, Saddam Hussein, etc. Russia did not help us. They have been trash talking NATO.

And you're naive!

The war in Iraq by Bush/Cheney was immoral and unjust. Cheney lied to
the American people on Meet The Press and should be in jail.

Yeah, the US took out some leaders of ISIS and Al Qaeda with drone strikes. However, it took two years of Bush and two of Obama's to get Osama Bin Laden, who was harbored in Pakistan, another friend of the US industrial military complex. The US had little involvement in Syria with boots on the ground, (thank God). In the end, how many Americans died in Afghanistan and Iraq? We should admit that they died in vain.

We had advisors with Kurds, but barely got involved in combat with the Kurds. Of course, Turkey hates the Kurds and will aid any group that opposes them.

You're thinking of Osama bin Laden, I think. And Bush was directed to other things. He said he didn't care where bin Laden was. It was a mistake, I think, but to be fair, Bush wasn't looking. And keep in mind, Bush had access to the same people Obama did. Obama just made it a priority to get him.

Yes, I meant Osama Bin Laden and corrected my post, thanx.

I too recall Bush saying he didn't care about where Bin Laden was. Turns out, Pakistan was allowing him to move freely in their country, meanwhile we have given that government billions in military and humanitarian aid. They also let the Taliban, stay in their country during our occupation of Afghanistan. There is even reports of Pakistan aiding the Taliban with weapons as they continued their attacks on Afghan and US forces.
