So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna... that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but by every word which proceeds from the mouth of God. (Deuteronomy 8:3)

I am the vine you are the branches...apart from Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

A Return To Resurrection Ground:

There were two things that happened at the Red Sea. Egypt went down into the abyss and the People of God came up to a whole new life on the other side. From that day forward they were going to be taught what it meant to walk on resurrection ground.

With all due respect to this story's very special symbolic foreshadowing of our own baptism in Christ, I would like to instead focus more so on it's special implications for the day in which we live.

For It is my sincere belief we are entering such a time. And to a large degree have already entered such an inflection point. Both the Egypt of our day and the people of God are racing towards its inevitable end. Our precious Lord is taking it off the things of this earth in this day. That has always been His divine way, but there seems to be a peculiar thing He is doing with that in our day. The seams are bursting, and the foundations of those things we so desperately want to hold on to and believe in He is allowing to crumble before our very eyes. It may very well be our Red Sea Day.

It is no use fighting against it. You may very well find yourself fighting against God. It is not in man to save Himself from the things of man. God hands us over to a thing like that. He shows us how foolish we really are. Governments are changing. Nations are changing. There seems to be a seismic paradigm shift in the status quo everywhere we look. If nothing else Covid should have exposed to us how fragile things really are. It is nothing for God to humble us to bring us to Him. And this may be a small thing compared to what is to come.

Dear believer, I know this is not an eschatology forum, and I am not here to debate such things. It is a discipleship forum, a forum meant to encourage us to go onward in Christ. But to do so let us remember our brothers and sisters who went before us. I think of people like Watchman Nee in the rise of communist China and Dietrich Bonhoeffer in the rise of Nazi Germany, and Richard Wurmbrand in Romania and T. Austin Sparks in World War II England and the like, and Thomas Merton's words during the the Vietnam war and so on and so on. We have to, have to be a people who recognize what Christ is doing in our day, whether they be the end times or just changing times, and be able like they did, to speak into our day through the Spirit, not the Spirit of the world. There is enough of that. But through the Spirit of Christ.

When you read passages like Isaiah 11 in the Bible it is a picture of always what Judgment is intended to bring. The wolf is lying down with the lamb, the lion is eating straw like the ox, there is peace and rest on the earth, the curse of the fall has been righted, the Sprit of Christ rules because of why? It is explained in one of the most beautiful passages of the Bible to me. Isaiah 11:9 For the earth (in that day) shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters covers the sea. That Changes everything!

When the Lord takes it off of Egypt, the people begin to learn to live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. That wasn't so easy for the people back then to swallow. There was a lot wrong with Egypt, but it had a lot of nice things afterall. But He is not going to let this thing be won out any other way. Only that which is of the Spirit will remain. Only that which is really out from Him will prevail. I would rather be a man in my prayer closet like Daniel in this day, than a man waiting for the voting booth. One has the potential to touch the ends of the earth and all the heavenlies if prayed in the right Spirit, the other can go no further than a district scorecard.

Let us be wise as serpents and innocent as doves in this day. Everything gets sorted out when Egypt is separated from His people. That is where He finds His Joshuas and Calebs. Let us then be ones who willfully give ourselves to the fire now, than forcibly taken through it in the future. That is one who He will be well pleased. It is my humble clarion call for a Red Sea Day!
