How is our faith in the power of piety (2Timothy 3:1-5)?

• “They who are of a perverse heart are hateful to Jehovah, but the upright in the way are His delight.” (Proverbs 11:20).

How difficult to believe that it is feasible someone to be made into new creature (2Cor 5:17). The impression that we have is that the only way to quell the evil is eliminating those who bear it in their life.

Nevertheless, if it were to the evil to be overwhelmed, the Creator would do this now (recall that He is the only One Who has power to do this). However, if He did this, every humanity would be exterminated (including us):

• “But if I do what I do not desire, it is no more I working it out, but sin dwelling in me. I find then a law: when I will to do the right, evil is present with me. For I delight in the Law of God according to the inward man; but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin being in my members.” (Rom 7:20-23).

The great virtue is to keep on focused in Jesus:

• “But even as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (Joh 3:14,15).

Many are the “serpents” that exist in this world (For those who didn’t know this passage, favor to read – Numbers 21:5-9). We can’t quash all of them (and it isn’t to be able to do this – chew over Isaiah 45:7; 54:16; 2Th 2:11,12; Rev 17:17). Nonetheless, if we stay looking firmly at Christ (Heb 12:1,2), certainly these “serpents” won’t be able to overpower us.

Although the evil is all over the world, it never will be able to hinder us of contemplate the sky and see the liberty that the Creator give to the birds, the beauty He granted to the flowers, etc. If we are *willing* and obedient, we will eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19).

I know that, in hard times, it looks difficult to find the Creator’s goodness in the Earth (although this never should happen – see Ps 40:5). If we really WANT to see it, certainly we will:

• “I would have fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living. Hope in Jehovah; be of good courage, and He shall make your heart strong; yea, hope in Jehovah.” (Psa 27:13,14).

But the question is: do we really crave for seeing and experimenting Jesus’ grace and mercy for those who turned into our enemies? If not, we will never live His love in us. After all, hardly ever someone will think and feel in a way that fits for us.

Summing up: we can’t hamper the evil of reaching us, but we can react in a way which can give room to Jesus manifest His power and wonders (Deut 28:7; 2Chr 16:9; Ps 91:6,7). So, smile and have a good day. Happiness depend only on you having good eyes to see virtue where there isn’t any (Matthew 6:22,23).

So, decide for Christ, for yourself and for all of those who Jesus put in your life to love you. Notwithstanding, recall: the promised land, although is yours, it needs to be conquered with faith in Christ and following His commandments (Joshua 1:6-9).

Stay in the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
