Lord have mercy on Your Servant !

As our Priest is away we cannot have Liturgy today, but Met Kallistos will be in our Prayers which we will take via Zoom today

Even though he did begin to lean towards heresy regarding sexuality and the family in his later years, I am grateful for his earlier works, especially "The Orthodox Church".

Just got back home from liturgy to learn of this on facebook of all places. He was a bishop of my church (Great Britain and Thyateira).

A lovely man, fabulous wit, and profound scholar.
He had a remarkable way of putting people at ease, I had the privilege of going on pilgrimage with him to Walsingham.

In the span of his life, the Orthodox Church in Great Britain has transformed from being a largely ethnic-only group, to a flourishing network of English and Welsh speaking parishes with native clergy.

Have just heard from the gentleman in Oxford that the passing of Met. Kallistos is not true .

My source informs me that he [ my source ] is at present with Met Kallistos .
I quote his post on our Parish Chat thread - obviously I cannot give his name

" Metropolitan Kallistos is still very much alive though obviously approaching the end of his earthly life. Someone started an unfounded rumour - please help by not promulgating it "

Lord have mercy! His writings have been of great value to me.

The same can be said for the United States as well. I would not have become Orthodox if it wasn't for his book.

yeah, my first Orthodox book was 'The Orthodox Way'.
His talks on the Transfiguration (available on YouTube I think) were also really helpful when I was coming to the faith
