Our Purpose, His Glory
Ephesians 1:11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

The Purpose of God’s Salvation for His elect is to live a life that brings glory to His Son. At the birth of John the Baptizer, his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied in Luke 1:67-79, where God’s Purpose is clearly stated.
74 To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

God’s Purpose is personal to each of His Elect and was predestined before the world began, by the sprinkling of the blood of the Lamb
2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

God’s Purpose is revealed to all in heaven and on earth by way of the manifestation of His Son’s and Daughter’s
Ephesians 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In order to live a life that is well pleasing to the Father, we must live before Him with open hearts, and in His sight.
Colossians 1:21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

The Testimony of Barnabas concerning the Purpose of God for the saints
Acts 11:22 Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch. 23 When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that, with purpose of heart, they should continue with the Lord.

Here is the revelation behind the expression “purpose of heart”. The word being translated purpose throughout this thread is prothesis [G4286], and means to set forth in plain sight. It is this word that is used in the Gospel’s for the word showbread.
Luke 6:4 How he went into the house of God, took and ate the showbread, and also gave some to those with him, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat?

We all discover His Purpose for us at the Table of the Lord. When there is fellowship in the Spirit of Truth, we open our hearts to one another, and in the sight of God. Here we discover our gifts and ministries, and are empowered to act in righteousness and holiness by the Power of the Holy Spirit,
and to the glory of God and His Son.

Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
