Pope Francis wants to hear from you! Jimmy Akin posted this youtube video where he said the Vatican contacted him and has requested Catholics take this online survey. The link is provided under the video. The deadline is August 15.

I took the survey and there’s a section where you can write in your own words 3 areas you think would improve the Church’s outreach.

I just ran across this:

Recently I was contacted by the Vatican’s department of communications and asked to help gather online input to be submitted to the upcoming Synod of Bishops.

They provided me with a link to an online survey, and they are interested in hearing from a wide range of people who may or may not be active Catholics.

If you would like to share your thoughts on various matters with the Vatican, here is the link. The deadline is August 15.

TAKE THE SURVEY

Took the survey, was not a fan of the survey.
It seemed to be worded in a way where I felt the Survey fed into an agenda that some have already started to go as far as the Church is concerned. I thought it was kind of a waste as far as traditional Catholics.

My thoughts exactly, it's full of "Francis lingo" rather than any kind of objective questioning. A lot of "accompaniment" and questions about what the Church is doing wrong but only giving maybe half the answers (like too authoritarian). It's very very slanted and I wish I hadn't answered it only because I feel like the best answers I could give were still wildly inaccurate and played into the Sankt Gallen Mafia's agenda.

I regretted it as well. Hopefully the notes will help but I doubt it.

Yeah, who the heck came up with these questions, needs to be fired. Some of those questions were just stupid. There was a couple that asked to select three, that gave me no options that I wanted to select!

I guess they didn't really want any honest answers, IMO.

How about a question about how good do you think your bishop is doing running your diocese? How about start with that? Our biggest issue as a Church overall, is very poor leadership. Until that changes us lay folks are just on our own.

The survey, which he links to his [URL='https://jimmyakin.com/']website, asks respondents questions about their faith, how often they go to Mass, and whether they have had a personal encounter with God.

Other questions, concerning attitudes towards the Church, provoked a negative reaction from some who took issue with the phrasing of the multiple choice answers.

I was greatly displeased by the questions in my diocesan synod questions. But they did have lots of opportunity for expansive response and I used every allowable character in my responses. Not many other people responded. But of those who did there was a strong LGBTQWERTY++++ contingent that had skewed the results.

Wouldn't surprise me if Cupich himself wrote them, undoubtedly it was someone in his camp.

Yeah, I just read the synopsis of my diocese's survey, and the first thing that stood out, is just how poorly our Catholic brethren are educated in the Church's teachings. Even had people pushing for ordinating women! The Church doesn't have that authority, and they don't seem to know that.

Anyway, not really pleased.

I’m not sure what I will do about this survey. If we don’t tell them what we think then the dissidents win. But suppose they engineered a survey whose results could only affirm a dissident position. So I don’t know.

Oh, OK. I'll do it.
-------------------------------------
OK. I did it. The questions were mush. I put in three long paragraphs about how the Church could be close. Bishops who taught about Jesus Christ instead of sociology, priests that are available for confession, and high expectations to make us actually accept the challenge of being Catholic.

A certain kind of survey compiler will write me off as a reactionary that should be kicked out of the Church. I don't care. I expect most of the responses will be pushing gay priests and gay marriages, abortion and contraception, the accompaniment of every imaginable sin. I just want somebody to accompany me, prod me, redirect me, push me and pull me into sainthood. Is that too much to ask of the Church in the 21st century?

In the comment section I said if the sheep need Traditional Mass who is it who should nip their budding faith?
Or something.

Give them something to consider.

My other things were - no backing lqbt as acceptable especially pride parades with children.
AND most important teaching children what and why the Church teaches [before wolves come to state what is taught which is untrue]
