Cracks are beginning to form in President Biden’s support among Senate Democrats, who are becoming less bullish about him running for reelection in 2024 after recent polling shows that most Democratic voters want a different nominee in two years.

Senate Democrats say Biden’s unpopularity is one of their biggest challenges heading into the midterm elections and are worried about data showing that young Democratic voters, whom they need to turn out in large numbers to win, are especially unenthusiastic about the 79-year-old president.

I don't think anyone should be surprised by this. Most of us really would prefer someone who is younger and a better candidate. The only reason he was elected was because of whom he was running against.

A truer word has seldom been spoken.

...which necessarily means that we'll need to see who his potential opponent will be in 2024 before advising President Biden not to seek a second term... The chance of the 2024 election being a rematch of 2020 is fading quickly, but still not entirely gone.

True. Let us all fervently hope for a new race in 2024.

Not necessarily -- I can think of several Democratic politicians I'd rather have in the Oval office than Biden (Cory Booker is at the top of my personal list), but I'd rather have Biden than anyone on the GOP side of the aisle...

If Donald runs, his devoted followers will ensure he gets the nomination, and then 2024 will look like 2020 -- right down to the same result. Biden will skate into a second term. That might not be the case if Biden is replaced, so let's not switch horses midstream.

But if Donald doesn't get the nomination, some other ambitious Republican (DeSantis is at the top of the list; he's bent on garnering nationwide attention) will run in 2024, and, and lacking Donald's extensive personal baggage, has a very real shot at defeating Biden... or whoever the Democrats put up as his replacement.

Why does he not take the EXACT same cognitive test his predecessor took after hundreds of media stories on his cognitive decline?

It would instantly put an end to the question - wouldn't it?
His handlers know he would flunk it, and they aren't ready for president Harris just yet.

You're grossly overestimating the rationality of the average conspiracy theorist. There's no appeasing these people, and nothing to be gained from trying.

No…. People would not question the results of a Presidents cognitive test…..
I hope you are being sarcastic, because plenty of people questioned the result of PResident Trump's test, and the Democrats didn't make "Trump is senile" one of the cornerstones of their messaging like the GOP has.

I don't remember anybody questioning the results of the test. I remember a lot of people making fun of Trump for being so proud of passing such a simple test...

In all fairness, I remember thinking the was boasting a little too much about acing the test, but I dismissed it as simple egomania, not fraud.

Absolutely correct and already shown that the conspiracy theorist kept 19 Attorney's, 14 special agents and the American public busy for 2 years on a collusion conspiracy they had "indisputable evidence" of.

Nothing will be gained by the very self same conspiracy theorist now in charge of the televison drama about Jan 6

I didn't say that - i pointed out the continuing conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory all based off the hatred of Trump, from the party that attempted to impeach him BEFORE he was sworn into office.

How nice? No, how mean spirited.

...which clearly was beyond Donald's ability to handle. Guess he couldn't counterpunch hard enough.

Most people especially the media and the three conspiracy theorist already mentioned didn’t like him because he fought back.

Unlike Joe
