My impression is tongues is defined by some as being in the Spirit - "the proof", while you can pray in something unknown, and still not be in the Spirit.
If I believe 1 Corinthians 14:2, which says that when I pray in tongues I pray to God because no man understands me, and that I pray mysteries in the Spirit, then that is exactly what I do. It is because I have my faith based on that verse of Scripture. Because the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write that verse, then I know that when I pray in tongues I am in the Spirit, because I am doing what the Spirit tells me I am doing.

I don't pray a lot of gibberish in the hope that God might understand me. That is not faith. Because I believe 1 Corinthians 14:2 I know, by faith, that I am praying in a language that God understands.

that would be a pretty novel gimmick, much like pastor breaking wind.
An "udder" believer could very well be a "milk" Christian, or are they members of a "Prosperity" preacher's church being "milked" for their money? :)

I guess if it were from a theologian who "milks the parables" .. it could relate to bearing fruit.

I see (and I saw last night) that they had started blaspheming the Holy Ghost, and making Him as a cow and an udder, and mocking God.

Let this be an end of the matter, when a evil spirit reveals its evil folly.

1 John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

There is no special incantation or language that is needed to ask the real God anything in prayer, it's by faith.

No, of course it isn't "needed" -- if you're praying with your mind only. However, if the Spirit within you prays then He converses with God in a language that we don't understand.

1 Corinthians 14:14, "If I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unproductive."

So there is a special language that is used by the real Spirit to ask the real God anything in prayer.
