"Ask anything in my name?"
This statement means "consistent with my nature".
Apparently, this brother doesn't think the church
bears fruit in prayerfulness. He is only correct in
saying that tacking on "in Jesus name" is not some
formula for success.
John 15:
7
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,
you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit;
so you will be My disciples.

Exodus 34:
5
Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him
there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.
6
And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed,
The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering,
and abounding in goodness and truth,
7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and
transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and
the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.

To pray in His Name is to invoke His divine attributes for
His people. As simple as the publicans prayer:
"Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner."
We ask for mercy, for He has stated that this is His very
nature. He loves mercy, and expects us to demonstrate
that nature in ourselves, by being merciful. (Mt. 18)

Psalms 116:
Then I called upon the name of the Lord:

O Lord, I implore You, deliver my soul!
5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
Yes, our God is merciful.
6 The Lord preserves the simple;
I was brought low, and He saved me.
7 Return to your rest, O my soul,
For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

Does anyone agree or have comments on the YouTube video regarding "Ask anything in my name?"

Yes, Jesus was speaking to the disciples about their future ministry to establish the church, that they would be able to heal the sick, cast out demon, speak in tongue to spread the gospel in new languages, and do many miracles in Jesus' name. It does not mean that today we would receive anything we want in Jesus name.

The following is from "Understanding Prayer, Faith and God's Will"

“Whatever you ask in My Name” The Gospel of John records what Jesus said at the Last Supper.

“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” ~ John 14:13-14 ~

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.” ~ John 15:7 ~

On the occasion, the Lord was talking to the disciples a few hours before His arrest and crucifixion. “My words” refer to what He said to them at that final hour. He was talking to them about bearing fruits

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples [John 15:5-8].

The Lord was speaking about bearing fruits in God’s work. At that time, the disciples did not know that they would be tasked to set up the first churches, and the Lord told them to keep His words in mind. After Jesus was arrested by the Roman soldiers, the disciples would flee in fear. Later they would see Him again after the resurrection, upon which they finally realized that He was the Messiah sent by God. They would remain in their faith and go on to proclaim the Great Commission. And in Jesus’ name – which means authority – they would be empowered to heal the sick, cast out demons and even restore life – “whatever they wanted” – to do God’s work. Here, Jesus was telling the disciples that He would empower them for their ministry ahead.

Today, can we interpret these words to mean that we can receive whatever we want? Let the reader understands. We should really think about what verses first meant in the original situations. I cannot emphasize this enough. It is sad and amusing to see people ignoring context perpetually even though they read the Bible for years. This habit of interpreting words without consideration for context is the root problem which has caused us to be quite at sea over prayer and God’s will.

Although the disciples did many miracles, however, they suffered much for their faith. They were beaten on occasions, arrested and all except John were executed. But miracles strengthened their faith and they did not give up their faith. Today, we want the miracles without the suffering. This is food for thoughs.

1 John 5

14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

That name faith in that name. I love the song playing and granted man has a choice but "Salvation for 100% I ask right now in Jesus name that 7 billion will be saved". I LOVE the fact they are thinking about the lost the whole world.

I like that this man said "I believe" praise GOD to many tell us what Gods word says. See what no one can say is "it was only for the 12". That is not there. There is the "who so ever". There are those that "your faith has made you whole". What ever we ask when we pray believe you receive it and you will have it. What ever you ask the Father in my name He will do it." OT delight your self in the lord He will give you the desires of your heart. So NT if we doubt were like a ship tossed back and forth let not that man think he will get anything from God. Oooh but if we know .. that's HUGE.. if we know He hears us then we know we have the petitions/prayers we asked for. But whats Gods will? His word. Something He never takes back and His word has to do what He said it can not return to Him void.

Anytime something between us and GOD happens the enemy comes right away to steal it. Then we tend to look around us at others and then thats the proof God does things or does nothing. Granted that is no where in the word of God and also no where are we told to put God on some time clock. Yes it is your faith that comes into play here. Were told with out faith we can not please Him. Christ marveled at the solider said He had not found such great faith not in Israel. Really? Think about that.. ALL those people.. no one had that much faith. Were told if you have the faith the size of a mustered seed you can tell that MTN to get up and move and it would have to obey you. No He was not talking about our personal life that's what man adds. We can apply it to our personal life. Think look how many "faith" threads do you read day in day out on any Christian forum? Any threads on how walk by faith or use faith or what ever?

So many times GOD FOR BID something bad happens and then we try to have faith which we don't have and it wont work. But praise GOD so many times His mercy His grace reaches down and He helps. We read about how much more will your heavenly Father give the holy Spirit to them that ask. OOH ask HIM! But what I want to say is just before that.. in all this do you ever just read HIs word and believe it? He will not give you a rock when you ask for a fish. If you are in error or don't understand.. ASK HIM! Its wise to ask but you have GOD in you Christ in you.. you are one.. ask HIM! Does He talk? Heres a easy one.. what does His word say? My sheep know/hear my voice Christ said. Thats your answer. You know His voice.. you never have to wonder you know that you know that you know. Thats the answer I first got when I asked. And she was right! See Hes never in a rush Hes always on time. Its always for the good.. always positive about others not negative (hint) you can listen and He will give you a peace about it or no peace. What are the fruits of the spirit? What is 1st Cor 13? Yeah learn this and you can know how He moves in your life. But do we take the time? Pray read worship then wait on Him? Every day? But we want things from God and we wonder why He does not answer? He always answers.

He LOVES to give. Think in this world you have to work take yet in Heaven the reward is to GIVE! So don't take my word for anything here. All I ever did in my life is read and just blindly believed. We should know Him more then we know our spouse or parents or kids or best friend. If Hes not .. its not His fault. See truth? You won't like it.. most as I know do not want to pay the price. I knew a woman grand mother had more power of GOD then anyone I I know or you seen and think is fake. She prayed 4 hours a day... she paid the price (its not just prayer) to walk in what she was walking in. Do we just read pray worship because .. oh just because we want to?

So you can ask for anything.. for me its as long as its written or goes in line with the word of God. He will ALWAYs answer ..I don't mean by saying no. He can never say no when He already gave you the answer. Things that are yours.. The joy of the lord is your strength. You have the peace of God. You have peace Christ gave us not of this word. You are strong in the power of His might. You put on His whole armor. This is REAL! He is REAL!

Sorry kind of all over the place but.. I LOVE this.. for me? To many times I am saying "sorry.. seems I am always asking for something" Yet to this very day He has never once said a word just keeps on giving. He LOVES to Give. How can we His Children not know this? One day we will be walking on dirt streets? NO pure see through gold streets.. hello on earth as it IS in heaven. So just believe. This is just about asking.. if I offended forgive me. Sorry again if hard to read understand.
