Well, it's a little off topic, but I'm OK with that. I think I would answer in this way:

And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Gal 3:12

I think what Paul is showing is that if a person truly kept the law, he would be without sin, and would have eternal life in this way, even though the law is not of faith. But Paul knew, as the rest of us know, no one has kept the law but Christ. Thus all now have need of a redeemer.

So since sin is missing the mark of the law (either written in tablets or on our hearts), you wouldn't be able to convince me I needed a redeemer unless you first convinced me of sin.

Well i have a distrust in gospels who focus on sin and the person being a sinner.

These gospels usually have some forum of action (baptism, repentance, obedience, confession, etc..) added to faith in The Messiah and many rarely even mention receiving Eternal Life.

Salvation is their main word, which in The Bible salvation can be from many things and actually, it very rarely means salvation in receiving God's free gift of Eternal Life.

Yeah but that doesn’t garner as much attention or donations as ranting about gays, the Clintons etc.

The church is off in its message in many ways. Just look around here and see the different beliefs held, it is ripe for a toppling.
satan is just waiting for the right time but as it is now satan may not have to do much at all. As it is now, it is not very effective at telling people how to have God's free gift of Eternal Life.

The visible church may actually have more people with problems than the secular world.

It can be profitable, as with simony ;)

The more I think about it, I like your point in post #17 and can think of some scriptures that go along nicely. Like from John 16 below, in which the first order is to believe in him, but if they don't, then they (the world) are reproved of sin.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Of sin, because they believe not on me;
Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Sounds like Hal Lindsey is sensing some reaping going on, which I would agree. What do you think is going on? The below is from his article, link at bottom.

Is this what you had in mind, America? Mass shootings one after another… Government paralyzed, not by disagreements, but by hate… The ongoing loss of constitutional rights… Inflation… Stagnation… Despondency, especially among the young… Millions caught in a seemingly unbreakable cycle of poverty.

Is this what you had in mind, America, when you said God had no place in public schools, or when you made local movie theaters a cesspool of illicit sex and explicit satanism? Was this the intent when you made the local mall something like a carnival fun house with music and imagery from the pit of hell?

You made the military a giant guinea pig for social experimentation, turned military academies into institutions of wokeness that hate fundamental American values, and you promoted the most politically correct into the highest positions of authority. Even though the rank and file of your military remains the best in the world, your leaders fail them, as in Afghanistan.

Through abortion, you taught the young that human life has no value, and you wonder why suicide is the leading cause of death among people between the ages of 10 and 34 — or why 18-year-olds shoot up schools and supermarkets. In school, you turned sex education into an opportunity to promote sexual perversions of all kinds. And you wonder why one in five Americans is mentally ill. You shred families. You disparage the idea of that children need fathers and mothers, and you can’t figure out why they bully and cheat and turn to violence.

You made your music all about sin and sensuality — degrading rather than uplifting. You made leaders out of the loudest, least thoughtful among us. You made a god out of popularity on social media. You replaced statesmanship with the poison-pal politics of hate. You allowed the media to become your thought shepherds rather than your factfinders.

And what about you, Church? Is this what you had in mind?

Did you plan to become weak and ineffective? When you traded in Bible-infused messages with pop psychology, is this what you had in mind? Is that what you wanted when you made entertaining children the priority over teaching them?

God says, “Look to Me,” but you look instead to political saviors. In fact, you look to man first in all things, leaving God as a last resort. And why not? After all, you teach that the great God, Creator of all things, is nothing more than a friendly little Pal whose primary purpose is to help you feel good about yourself.

Is this what you had in mind, Church, when you chose to embrace the world’s definitions of prosperity and blessing rather than God’s — or chose a saccharine-sweet façade instead of the glorious reality of the omnipotent God? Is this what you had in mind when you chose to embrace evil, rather than to overcome evil with good — or when you chose cheap virtue signaling over faithful evangelism?

When you threw away reverence, did you have this in mind? You tried to make church doctrine all things to all people. You wanted to be liked and not seen as peculiar. But by watering down the Gospel, you laid your own children on Moloch’s altar.

A remnant remains — lit from within by the glowing fires of the Holy Spirit. But to a stunning extent, the Church is drowning in worldliness.

When the people of earth need more than ever for the Church to be distinct, it has emulated the world so long and with such ardor, that people have a hard time telling one from the other. But God still says, “Come out from among them, and be ye separate”! (2 Corinthians 6:17, KJV)

Is This What You Had In Mind, America? - Harbingers Daily

Daniel 7:4-5 describe the problem and solution.

A heart of man has been given to the US as in Daniel 7:4. That's the religion of atheists, aka religion of equality or Woke-ism. The old heart was a heart of God, aka Christianity.

Daniel 7:5 gives the solution: Russia, rise up and devour much flesh.

I personally subscribe to the below with regard to Daniel. But I agree something "different" is going on with America. Lindsey is ascribing the rising trouble to the rejection of God by our society as a whole. It's not difficult to link the two. But it would be difficult to see God continue to bless this country as it rejects him more and more. That would go against his very glory, imo, and would send a confusing message to the world.

Rachel back on topic, sorry for the detour.

Well what many fail to see or do not believe, is that satan is in possession of the kingdoms of the world (including the USA) and will use each and everyone in his final go against Israel. A one world system of government and even more important a world system of religion is coming. So at some point the puzzle has to be starting to be put together. The question is is now the start.

Ho can you claim that Satan is still in possession of the kingdoms of the world when the Lord has already conquered Satan and vanquished his powers:

Joh 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world! Now the prince of this world will be driven out!

Col 2:15 After disarming the principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in the cross.

I think the argument would be based on passages like Rev 11:15 which state "the kindgoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ". Your verses show the forgone conclusion, Christ having defeated him once and for all at the cross.

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Co 4:4

Is The Messiah ruling form Jerusalem now, if not then satan is still a presence in this world. And will one day give all the kingdoms of the world to the beast who will worship him (satan). Unlike The Messiah who rejected satans offer of all the kingdoms of the world for in-turn worship.

Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.

It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.

Satan is not physical, so he did not rule over the world physically.

His rule was spiritual and Jesus rules spiritually from the heavenly Jerusalem since the 1st century AD.

Why does your picture have two "Romes"? Neither the dream nor its interpretation by Daniel says there will be two instances of the same empire.

In every empire of the Dan 2 image, each has a different metal to represent it. Until you get to Rome - the legs of iron. The iron continues into the feet and toes of the last empire. So I speculate this is why some have dubbed it "Rome II" - it's like the first Rome (iron), but is also different (mingled with clay).

There is no need to discuss any further as i do not spiritualize Biblical text.

Do you think the article is casting stones? I don't see any personal attacks, and maybe that's where I draw the line. But I also don't see how you can preach the gospel without talking about sin, otherwise how do you show the need for a redeemer?

It is tempting to go line by line, addressing this man's accusations, but none of us really have the time for that. You state that there are no personal attacks, yet again and again he condemns his brethren in the church.

Here is a question. Who do you picture when you read this diatribe? Is it a wealthy evangelical, grinding others into poverty, twisting and diluting scripture to entertain children and childish adults? A milquetoast liberal christian, allowing any and all behaviors? Something in between? None of the above?

The beast in the book of Revelation was the Roman Empire as the picture posted by @Rachel20 shows.

The Roman Empire had that authority and it has already been destroyed.
