yes, every day people die in car accidents (usually though not always) because someone either broke the law in some way shape or form. This could be anything from driving drunk/high to texting to driving too fast for conditions or any number of other things that people do all the time and usually (get away with", but can prove fatal.

Ban semiauto rifles, and then handguns would become favored. The argument is "at least they aren't as high-powered as a rifle!". Criminals would still have access to all those guns anyway, but that would be ignored. After all, we have to do "something!"

They might, which is a shame, because the real aim of gun control is to reduce the flow of guns to criminals. Disarming the cosplay minutemen is just a fringe benefit.

I believe the person's point was that the person was not supposed to have a gun anyway and was just looking for trouble after he had already been sent home.
