In Yahshua, I'm a slave to the Torah; but that's a conversation for a different forum.
everything we are is in Yahshua. our actions and motivations towards all things, regardless of what they are, are in Yahshua, and if they are not, then they are against Yahshua.

The word “mandatory” never left her mouth.
Do you have use particular words to say particular things? In other words can things implied otherwise use different different actual words?

Given the events of the last week, perhaps this thread should be called "The Right is Rallying (at the recent NRA Convention) to Protect the 'Rights' of Mass Murderers and Child Killers."
or maybe we are rallying to keep from losing rights of the general public?

As we've seen, nothing is settled if SCOTUS changes its mind.
Yes, they "change their mind" sometimes otherwise Brown V Board of Education would still be standing. Would that be good?

Plus, we all know that "The Left" wants to disarm all real true patriots in order to impose tyranny, so what else could she possibly have meant?

By paying their legislators exorbitant amounts of money to block any attempts to identify dangerous shooters--both mentally impaired and just violent--that is what they're doing.
What about red flag laws where people can report others if they feel they are in either of those groups ( yes I know some people do not agree with those.

Take all the semiautomatic guns. Six shooters, bolt action rifles, and rabbit ear shotguns are all we need. As a society we have proven we can't handle anything else.
As a society then why are there MILLIONS of gun owners that have not caused problems?

So people are using cars illegally and killing children? News to me
yes, every day people die in car accidents (usually though not always) because someone either broke the law in some way shape or form. This could be anything from driving drunk/high to texting to driving too fast for conditions or any number of other things that people do all the time and usually (get away with", but can prove fatal.

I totally agree, but it's fun to confront these guys with those facts to see how they try to explain away the facts. They usually use the "slippery slope fallacy" argument when the facts are presented to them.
Ban semiauto rifles, and then handguns would become favored. The argument is "at least they aren't as high-powered as a rifle!". Then they'd want those banned because of their high capacity, so then revolvers would be used. Even though fewer people would be killed with a revolver, the argument would be, "One life lost is too many!", and then revolvers would be banned.

Criminals would still have access to all those guns anyway, but that would be ignored. After all, we have to do "something!"
They might, which is a shame, because the real aim of gun control is to reduce the flow of guns to criminals. Disarming the cosplay minutemen is just a fringe benefit.

So one person more than 30 years ago took a gun to a school and managed to kill nobody but injure 3 people. And this before the gun control measures were introduced anyway.

Not exactly helping your argument.
I believe the person's point was that the person was not supposed to have a gun anyway and was just looking for trouble after he had already been sent home.

Here's a take:

Make US gun ownership mandatory, but limit the firearms available to the public those at the time of the signing of the US constitution.

Afterall, if it was good enough for the founders, it's good enough now. Right?
yes, but guns have changed now 200+ years later. It was good enough for the founders because that was being well armed back then.

The drug war has failed miserably; and it's not like you can just print them out on a 3D printer; but Biden's porous borders aren't helping that situation.

for reasons like this Australia instituted buyback programs and stricter gun laws ...and the US should follow in Australia's lead.
I am pretty sure a mandatory back back program ( which is what it would have to be) would result in a heck of a lot of bloodshed ( likely more than it would prevent.
