I find that CRT goes backwards, against the ideals that Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream about.

In many ways, yes, it does go backwards, but I think that's partially by design.

Not saying the theories are right or wrong.

But if you're someone who believes that the current systems are outgrowths of the old ones, and that the "okay, everything's even steven moving forward" is flawed, than it's reasonable that a person of that mindset would say "no, everything being equal on a moving forward basis isn't solving any problems, because we were already handicapped by what happened before"

I've used the analogy of a boxing match.

If we have Joe boxing Mike, and for the first 6 rounds we tie Joe's one hand behind his back and let Mike clobber him, and then have a change of heart and say "okay, we were wrong...it wasn't right to do that, so starting in round 7, we'll untie Joe's hand and let it be fair"

Some are going to say "hey wait a minute, Joe's already got a broken nose and an eye swelled shut for the first 6 rounds, Mike's going to have an advantage now no matter what even if the rules are equal starting round 7".

...and they wouldn't be wrong.

The issue would be if the people pointing out that flaw started getting a little loose with the accuracy surrounding the events, and start putting the blame on people who didn't deserve it, attributing motives to people who had nothing to do with it, and claiming that anyone who shares some immutable characteristic with the perpetrators is somehow complicit.

I think the modern incarnations of CRT we see today is the result of Black activists and groups getting fed with the fact that all of their previous (much more moderate proposals) have been shut down.

But the actual belief system of Christianity (we're all of one blood descended from the sons of Noah) is incompatible with racism, so actual Christianity has 0 problem with legal immigration, "interracial" marriage, and all mankind being created equal in the eyes of God.

If that's true, could you explain why Christianity has a problem with illegal immigration, if we're all of one blood and created equal and all that.

Romans 13, we're to obey laws unless they conflict with God's commandments.
That'd include immigration laws.

My husband watched the video and researched this and said this guy was a flat out racist. He patterned everything after the Christchurch Mosque shooting, and had the names of the victims in Wisconsin (where that black guy mowed people down) on the side of his vehicle.

He's just another person who lost his mind.. DH said this guy is as cold blooded as they come. (Dead inside type cold)
Maybe people in the white community should take some responsibility and keep their people from committing heinous crimes?

It's more the ideal.. the goal in the end should be getting to a place where we disregard "race" CRT goes in the opposite direction making race a central issue.
in that regard?
I want to be colorblind.

The Buffalo suspect appears to have immersed himself on web forums like 4chan and 8chan, where versions of replacement theory abound. That is also where the suspect, before setting out to slaughter Black shoppers in Buffalo, posted a 180-page compendium of racist arguments and internet memes.

He wrote that he got his news from Reddit. He began browsing 4chan in May 2020 “after extreme boredom,” he wrote, and quickly found a gateway to anti-Black and antisemitic replacement content. Reflecting the most extreme versions of replacement theory, the suspect deemed Black people, like immigrants, as “replacers”: people who “invade our lands, live on our soil, live on government support and attack and replace our people.”

-----

According to a detailed analysis by the Anti-Defamation League provided to The Times, the suspect’s screed plagiarized almost two-thirds of another manifesto — the one left by an Australian man who in 2019 murdered dozens of Muslims as they prayed in two mosques in Christchurch. In some instances, the Buffalo suspect replaced the Christchurch killer’s references to Angela Merkel, the former German chancellor, with George Soros, the billionaire philanthropist. One page of the Australian’s document includes a purported count of Jews working at the senior levels of major media outlets, including Fox itself.

Oren Segal, vice president of the ADL’s Center on Extremism, said that the Buffalo suspect’s repurposing of the Christchurch manifesto to justify an attack on Black Americans “demonstrates the evolving and interactive nature of extremist propaganda.”

"the white community"
do you listen to yourself before you post?
as much as CRT tries to divide us into monolithic groups by race that is not reality
No "white people" council exists that governs the affairs of other "white people" in the world or has any means of enforcement of morality or ethics on anyone based on the color of their skin.
Just like the "muslim community" is unable to stop extremists from doing violence
or the "black community" is unable to stop black on black crime in Chicago

How about "the sinner community" able to stop sins from being committed?
"With men this is impossible..."

There are not enough laugh reacts in the totality of existence for the idea that Biden is “radical left”.
Not surprised you would find that funny, but many Americans are not laughing about the southern border crises, messy Afghanistan withdrawal, rising inflation, defending the police, the crime surge, the war on parents, stirring up division and hatred etc.. in America under this current administration.

It's not just me who see's this administration as far left. Not an exhaustive list of news links by far.

You chose to believe the alarmist media. A media that profits nicely from stocking resentment and anger....

US is a unique country in that it's a nation founded on a set of ideas rather than on some sort of ethnic or racial identity.
Unless you are a white nationalist.

Yet another mentally ill teen. What the heck are we doing to kids in this country (asked, rhetorically)?
Racism and hate is not a mental illness.

Racism and hate is not a mental illness.

I agree these aren’t DSM-5 psychiatric illnesses. Racial/ethic/religious hatred are extreme forms of tribalism. Homo sapiens evolved from hominids living in smallish family groups and tribes. There was survival value in being wary and suspicious, if not downright antagonistic, towards members of other tribes who might attack us, steal our females, and take over our territory and resources. So, tribalistic thinking was favored by natural selection. At a very primitive neurophysiological level (like the amygdala) it’s instinctive in our species. But in the modern world, where people of different races, religions, and ethnicities must live together, tribalism can be highly maladaptive. Most of us can suppress it by learning and acculturation. But some of us I suspect have stronger tribal instincts. Which in these folks, are magnified by social media and other internet outlets. And may lead to horrific acts of violence.

I’m not excusing racially motivated mass murder in the least. This is just an explanation. This perp, if found guilty, must never again see the the light of day. He is unfit for a civilized society.
