Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent Mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.KJV

The Davidic Covenant

Psalms 89:19-37 Then thou spokest in vision to thy children, and saidst, I have laid help on a mighty one, I have exalted one chosen out of My people. 20 I have found David My servant I have anointed him by My holy mercy. 21 For My hand shall support him and Mine arm shall strengthen him. 22 The enemy shall have no advantage against him and the son of transgression shall not hurt him again. 23 And I will hew down his foes before him and put to flight those that hate him. 24 But My truth and My mercy shall be with him and in My name shall his horn be exalted. 25 And I will set his hand in the sea and his right hand in the rivers. 26 He shall call upon Me, saying, Thou art my Father, my God, and the helper of my salvation. 27 And I will make him my first-born, higher than the kings of the Earth. 28 I will keep My mercy for him for ever and My Covenant shall be firm with him. 29 And I will establish his seed for ever and ever and his throne as the days of Heaven. 30 If his children should forsake My Law and walk not in My judgments, 31 if they should profane My ordinances and not keep My commandments, 32 I will visit their transgressions with a rod and their sins with scourges. 33 But My mercy I will not utterly remove from him nor wrong My truth. 34 Neither will I by any means profane My Covenant and I will not make void the things that proceed out of My lips. 35 Once have I sworn by My holiness that I will not lie to David, 36 his seed shall endure for ever and his throne as the sun before Me, 37 and as the moon that is established for ever and as the faithful witness in Heaven.LXX

Matthew 26:26-28 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it and brake it and gave it to The Disciples, and said, Take, eat: this is My body. And He took the cup, and gave thanks and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it: For this is My blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.KJV

The New Covenant

Jeremiah 31:31-37 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Juda; 32 not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day when I took hold of their hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, for they abode not in My Covenant and I disregarded them, saith the Lord. 33 For this is My Covenant which I will make with the house of Israel: after those days, saith the Lord, I will surely put My Laws into their mind and write them on their hearts, and I will be to them a God and they shall be to Me a people. 34 And they shall not at all teach every one his fellow citizen and every one his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, for I will be merciful to their iniquities and their sins I will remember no more. 35 Thus saith the Lord, who gives the sun for a light by day, the moon and the stars for a light by night, and makes a roaring in the sea so that the waves thereof roar: the Lord Almighty is His name: 36 if these Ordinances cease from before Me, saith the Lord, then shall the family of Israel cease to be a nation before Me forever. 37 Though the sky should be raised to a greater height, saith the Lord; and though the ground of the Earth should be sunk lower beneath, yet I will not cast off the family of Israel, saith the Lord, for all that they have done.LXX

Ordinances for the Promised Land

Deuteronomy 4:1-2 And now, Israel, hear the ordinances and judgments, all that I teach you this day to do: that ye may live, and be multiplied, and that ye may go in and inherit the land, which the Lord God of your fathers gives you. 2 Ye shall not add to the word which I command you, and ye shall not take from it: keep the Commandments of the Lord our God, all that I command you this day.LXX...

Ordinances of the Kingdom of Heaven

Matthew 5:1-3 And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain; and when He was set, His disciples came unto Him, 2 And He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.KJV...

The Davidic Covenant secured the coming of Christ, but that was not the only focus. It was tied to the Old Covenant, and it focused the blessings of Abraham and law of Moses into one individual who reigned as king. Whenever that king sinned, the nation suffered. Whenever the king obeyed, the nation prospered. The Judean king was ordained as the federal head of the nation of Israel, as was Adam in the Garden, and this was the original, but not final, purpose of the covenant.

Not really.

Matthew 19:7 They say unto Him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

Deuteronomy 18:15-19 = John 12:44-50

Psalms 2:1-12 Wherefore did the heathen rage, and the gentiles imagine vain things? The kings of the Earth stood up and the rulers gathered themselves together against the Lord and against His Christ: saying, Let us break through Their bonds and cast away Their yoke from us. He that dwells in the Heavens shall laugh them to scorn and the Lord shall mock them; then shall He speak to them in His anger, and trouble them in His fury.
6 But I have been made king by Him on Sion His holy mountain, declaring the Ordinance of the Lord. The Lord said to Me, Thou art My Son, to-day have I begotten Thee. Ask of Me, and I will give Thee the Heathen for Thine inheritance and the ends of the earth for Thy possession; Thou shalt rule them with a rod of iron, Thou shalt dash them in pieces as a potter’s vessel.
10 Now therefore understand, ye kings; be instructed, all ye that judge the Earth: serve the Lord with fear and rejoice in Him with trembling; accept correction, lest at any time the Lord be angry and ye should perish from the righteous way. Whensoever His wrath shall be suddenly kindled, blessed are all they that trust in Him.(LXX)

Wonderful summery. It's always heartening to see something posted by someone who has a solid biblical education.

John 12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on Me, believeth not on me but on Him that sent Me; and He that seeth Me seeth Him that sent Me.
12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear My words and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
12:48 He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not My words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, he gave Me a Commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His Commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.KJV

It's not Moses' words that will judge you.

Deuteronomy 18:18-19 I will raise up to them a prophet of their brethren like thee, and I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them as I shall Command Him. And whatever man shall not hearken to whatsoever words that prophet shall speak in My name, I will take vengeance on him.LXX

Matthew 25:34-40 Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred and ye gave Me meat, I was thirsty and ye gave Me drink, I was a stranger and ye took Me in, Naked and ye clothed Me, I was sick and ye visited Me, I was in prison and ye came unto Me. ... Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me.KJV

Yet the actual Davidic Covenant is actually about God's promise to David regarding David's earthly throne...

2 Sam 7:16
16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
KJV

Ps 89:35-37
35 Once have I sworn by My holiness that I will not lie unto David.
36 His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me.
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.
KJV

Gen 49:10
10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

KJV

God ordained Israel's kings to be born through the tribe of Judah of the house of David, forever. That Genesis 49:10 prophecy reveals unto all generations David's throne is to be established, and it is an 'earthy' throne by the way. Lord Jesus is not... sitting upon it yet today, but Jesus is sitting on the right hand of The Father's Throne in Heaven, still expecting until His enemies are made His footstool.

The Genesis 49:10 verse is showing one of the tribe of Judah is still be upon David's earthly throne today, all the way up to Christ's ("Shiloh") future coming and "gathering of the people". That "gathering of the people" is about the day of Christ's return and the gathering of His saints on that day, not... the time of His 1st coming.

We know that David's throne in Jerusalem by Zedekiah, king of Judah and house of David, was ended there in the time of Jeremiah the prophet. And Zedekiah's son heirs were all killed by Nebuchadnezzar in that time. Yet Jeremiah with guardianship of the "king's daughters" escaped to Egypt, where they drop out of history.

So where on earth is David's throne right now? And it MUST still be here on earth per the prophecy.

The sure mercies of David is a covenant of discipline
to "perfect obedience".

2 Samuel 7:
14 I will be his Father, and he shall be My son.
If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with
the rod of men and with the blows of
the sons of men.
15 But My mercy shall not depart from him
,
as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.
16 And your house and your kingdom shall be established
forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.

Hebrews 12:
7
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons;
for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?
8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have
become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.
9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected,
and we paid respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed
best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers
of His holiness.
11
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

No, the Davidic covenant is NOT... the same thing as The New Covenant.

The New Covenant is about Christ Jesus' death and resurrection, and the offering of the bread and wine for remembrance as symbols for that. It is specifically about Christ's crucifixion representing the remission of sins for all those who believe on Him.

The Davidic covenant is about God's promise specifically to David, that one of David's literal seed would always sit upon the throne of Israel, unto all generations. Christ Jesus is to inherit that throne here on earth, but Lord Jesus has NOT... returned yet today to do that.

You are apparently following the gospel to the gentiles...(Galatians 2:7-9)
Not the gospel to the circumcision.
The circumcision's gospel is the Gospel of the Davidic Kingdom.

The New Covenant was ratified by the 12 Galilean Apostles at the Last Passover, when Jesus said "drink ye all of it"(Matthew 26:27) and they did. That ratification matches Abraham's circumcision which ratified the Covenant of Promise... the difference being that all males are required to be circumcised and will thereby sign on to the Covenant of Promise (Genesis 17:13), which is everlasting in all of its details.

Jesus, the root and offspring of David (Revelation 22:16), came to bear witness to the Father (John 18:37), and the Ordinances of the Davidic Covenant on the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:19-20--Matthew 7:28-29) are the words of the Father (John 12:49-50). Jesus and the Father require that we keep His Commandments (Exodus 20:6, John 14:21). The New Covenant is the embodiment of the sure mercies of David (Psalms 89:28), and proven by the words of Jesus, when He says Learn what this means: I will have mercy and not sacrifice (Matthew 9:13). For the New Covenant is wrapped up in repentance and forgiveness, which are applied each and every time a true follower of the Gospel of the Davidic Kingdom sins or forgives.

Jesus says that His words will never pass away (Matthew 24:35)... these are words of the Father (John 12:44)... and this is the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Nope! When I spoke of the Davidic covenant being about God's promise to David that one of his seed would sit upon his throne unto all generations, I was not simply pointing to Christ's future return when Jesus will inherit that earthly throne.

So it's pretty difficult to confuse that with The New Covenant Jesus Christ, which is about Jesus dying on the cross for the remission of sins of those who believe.

Yep! The "Shiloh" of Genesis 49:10 is used as a symbolic title for Lord Jesus Christ. And I prefer the KJV wording that, "unto him shall the gathering of the people be", which is pointing to Christ's future 2nd coming and gathering of His Church.

I don't confuse ideas like the Gospel of the Kingdom like dispensationalists like to do, because Apostle Paul also preached the 'kingdom' to Gentiles too (Acts 20:24-25; Acts 28:30-31; Romans 14:17; 1 Corinthians 4:20; Colossians 1:13; Colossians 4:11; 1 Thessalonians 2:12; 2 Thessalonians 1:5; 2 Timothy 4:1).

Those above are only a few... of the New Testament examples. Those above are all by Apostle Paul preaching the kingdom to Gentile believers.

Not being a dispensationalist myself... (shrug)

THIS is what's meant by Paul's "kingdom":

2 Timothy 4:1 I charge [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

(Matthew 26:47, Matthew 27:33, John 19:15)
kleronomos = from kleros (portion) and the base of nomos (law); a sharer by lot, inheritor, a possessor, heir.

Like I said, that's the gospel to the gentiles.
But 6+ years before Paul came out of Arabia... ... ...
the Gospel of the Kingdom was given to the Lost-Sheep/circumcision in Galilee.

Matthew 4:12-20 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, He departed into Galilee.[13] And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim,[14] that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,[15] The land of Zabulon and the land of Nephthalim, [by] the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the nations:[16] The people which sat in darkness saw great light, and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.[17] From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, I am not sent but unto the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel.

Matthew 10:5-7 These Twelve Jesus sent forth and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

Matthew 28:16-20 Then the Eleven Disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw Him, they worshipped Him: but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All authority is given unto Me in Heaven and in Earth. 19 Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

Matthew 28:20 ...includes... Matthew 10:5-7.

Not being a dispensationalist myself... (shrug)

THIS is what's meant by Paul's "kingdom":

2 Timothy 4:1 I charge [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

Paul did not preach a separate kingdom than what the other Apostles preached. You cannot try to separate Christ's Kingdom like that, which doing so actually does... mean you'd be following man's dispensationalist theories.
