The "Gospel" of works is not a Gospel but a false teaching.
There is only one Gospel and it centres on Jesus.

Matthew, the Gospel of Works:

Matthew 5:19-22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Matthew 7:24-25 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon the rock. And the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house: and it fell not, for it was founded upon the rock.

John, the Gospel of works:

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation: that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.
John 8:39 They answered and said unto Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
John 14:21 He that hath My commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me; and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him and will manifest Myself to him.
John 17:4-6 I have manifested Thy name unto the men which Thou gavest Me out of the world: Thine they were and Thou gavest them Me, and they have kept Thy word.

Revelation, the Gospel of Works:

2:2 I know thy works and thy labour and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles and are not, and hast found them liars: 2:9 I know thy works and tribulation and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Judaeans, and are not but the assembly of Satan. 2:13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest: where Satan’s seat is, and thou holdest fast my name and hast not denied My faith even in those days wherein Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was slain among you where Satan dwelleth. 2:19 I know thy works and charity and service and faith and thy patience; and thy works, and the last to be more than the first. 3:1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest and art dead. 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My word and hast not denied My name. 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. Revelation 22:16

For us, there is only one Gospel.

"But even before 1956, ancient variants of the joke were meant to deflate the condescension of individuals who used the royal “we,” and the insulting presumption of people who assumed, for their own purposes, what they had no business assuming."
What Do You Mean ‘We,’ White Man?

"ancient variants of the joke"

"Yes, I have noticed there are three classes of people who always say ‘we’ instead of ‘I.’ They are emperors, editors and men with a tapeworm."

The Bible was written to us, but only Paul’s 13 Epistles ( Romans-Philemon) was written for us! That is the Grace doctrine we have had for the last 2000yrs.

On the other hand, the Gospel of the Kingdom was preached in the Gospels 2000yrs ago, headed up by Peter, James & John.

Most churches mix the 2 Gospels together, so that they become Grace by works.

Jesus said in 2Cor12v9 “My Grace is sufficient for you”. Nothing else required, no water baptism or communion, no ungodly sinners prayer, they are all works!

I know from experiencing denominational churches, how they all miss the mark.

The Bible was written in such a way, to have thousands of interpretations, that fall under the deluding influence. Where the mystery, God’s hidden wisdom in 1Cor2v7, is for those who He has chosen, for the Truth to be revealed.

Are you one, who maybe doesn’t realise it yet?
We have to read the whole bible, and not just isolated verses. There's only one gospel, one new covenant by which God promises to accomplish in us by grace what we, with the law, could not accomplish on our own, apart from Him. When we can reconcile the following passages, we better understand the gospel:
“Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.” Rom 3:20

“Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”
Gal 3:11

“So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.", "We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.” Rom 7:12 & 14

“…just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Rom 5:21

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.”
Rom 6:22

“To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.” Rom 2:7

“For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the law who will be declared righteous.” Rom 2:13

"For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." Matt 5:20

“If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
Matt 19:17

If one turns to God in faith, one has union with Him. If one has union with God, one can overcome the sin that separates us from Him:
"And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." Rom 8:4

“Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”
Rom 8:12-13

“But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” Rom 3:21-22

That faith-born union and the righteousness intrinisic to it is the basis of the New Covenant:
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”
declares the Lord.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”
Jer 31:33-34

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3

"Apart from Me you can do nothing." John 15:5

So when you read scripture like the following

Matthew 4:23

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

You wouldn't translate the "gospel of the kingdom" as "good news of the kingdom"?

But at the same time, you agree that the Greek word of gospel means good news in English?

Isn't that some form of contradiction?

Gal 1:6-9 there is only one Gospel -- "if anyone preaches another one let him be accursed"
Gal 3:8 that one Gospel was "preached to Abraham"

James 3:9-10, Jude 1:9

Genesis 12:2-7 3 And I will bless those that bless thee and curse those that curse thee, and in thee shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed.

Christ did not teach a Gospel of works - not even in Matt 7.

Matt 7 and John 3 agree.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation: that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.

"For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." Matt 5:20

That faith-born union and the righteousness intrinisic to it is the basis of the New Covenant:
Jer 31:33-34

To exceed the Pharisees, your head needs to clean-up the inside of the cup.
Even your words will put you in danger of hell fire, in the Kingdom of God on Earth.

Matthew 5:19-48 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these small Commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called small in the Kingdom of Heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. 21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. ... 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. ... Matthew 6:14-15 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. ...

You don't get to pick and choose which verses to accept from this Gospel of the Kingdom.
Jesus taught this Gospel to the circumcision. It runs all the way through, to at least Matthew 26:13, where it's called "this Gospel"... and exists wherever these phrases are used by Jesus and His Disciples of Galilee... Example:
Kingdom of Heaven: Matthew 3:2 Matthew 4:17 Matthew 5:3 Matthew 5:10 Matthew 5:19 Matthew 5:20 Matthew 7:21 Matthew 8:11 Matthew 10:7 Matthew 11:11 Matthew 11:12 Matthew 13:11 Matthew 13:24 Matthew 13:31 Matthew 13:33 Matthew 13:44 Matthew 13:45 Matthew 13:47 Matthew 13:52 Matthew 16:19 Matthew 18:1 Matthew 18:3 Matthew 18:4 Matthew 18:23 Matthew 19:12 Matthew 19:14 Matthew 19:23 Matthew 20:1 Matthew 22:2 Matthew 23:13 Matthew 25:1 Matthew 25:14
Kingdom of God: Matthew 6:33 Matthew 12:28 Matthew 19:24 Matthew 21:31 Matthew 21:43 John 3:3 John 3:5
This Gospel, Gospel of the Kingdom: Matthew 4:23 Matthew 9:35 Matthew 11:5 Matthew 24:14 Matthew 26:13

Now for that chapter of Jeremiah 31

Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Juda. 32 Not according to the Covenant which I made with their fathers in the day when I took hold of their hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; for they abode not in My Covenant, and I disregarded them, saith the Lord. 33 For this is My Covenant which I will make with the house of Israel: after those days, saith the Lord, I will surely put My Laws into their mind and write them on their hearts, and I will be to them a God and they shall be to Me a people. 34 And they shall not at all teach every one his fellow citizen and every one his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know Me from the least of them to the greatest of them: for I will be merciful to their iniquities, and their sins I will remember no more. 35 Thus saith the Lord, who gives the sun for a light by day, the moon and the stars for a light by night, and makes a roaring in the sea, so that the waves thereof roar; the Lord Almighty is His name: 36 if these ordinances cease from before Me, saith the Lord, then shall the family of Israel cease to be a nation before Me forever.LXX
Jeremiah 31:31 = The Divided Kingdom
Jeremiah 31:32 = 10 Commandments, and Ordinances for the Promised land.
Jeremiah 31:31-32 = New Covenant, Matthew 26:26-28*, Matthew 13:52.
Jeremiah 31:33 = Written on the heart, John 14:26 and John 16:13-15.
Jeremiah 31:34 = Taught by God, Matthew 23:8-10, John 10:16.
Jeremiah 31:35-36 = Matthew 24:35.
______________________
Just examples of fulfillment; it's longer than the NT "Gospel of the Kingdom".
* Matthew 26:28 For this is My blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.KJV (τουτο γαρ εστιν το αιμα μου το της καινης διαθηκης)

It's actually fairly easy, the minute we begin to love as God does, as He wants us to do, which is only possible by virtue of fellowship with Him, our righteousness already exceeds that of the Pharisees and teachers of the law; we're already cleaner. God does the forgiving, the cleansing, the washing, the purifying, the making of a new creation: He begins to put His law in our minds and write it on our hearts as we turn in humilty to Him. That's what He's after, that bond or union that man was made for: God, alone, can justify man. But we must follow, cooperate, work out our salvation with He who works in us.
You don't get to pick and choose which verses to accept from this Gospel of the Kingdom.
Yes, and that's why I didn't, while the OP seemed to do so.

In context, what was Paul calling "Christ crucified"?

Isn't 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 Paul's gospel?

Honestly, I've had enough of this. Trust me when I say you haven't found anything in the bible that no one else has ever seen. There is only one gospel and that gospel is for both Jews and Gentiles, see Romans 1:16 and 10:12. If there were two gospels someone would have mentioned it a long time ago.

"we" (sigh)
Pretty sure there are Greek people on this forum.

As I said, that was possibly how they talked - past tense - in the Greek speaking world - which this isn't - I thought you might have realised that I was talking about those who lived in Jesus's time.

We don't, today, go around saying "have you heard the latest gospel" or "I have some gospel for you" - it's not how people tend to speak.

Still no answer... instead:
And that differs from what exactly? Please. Be specific so we all know what you mean.

Which came first, (1) the chicken or (2) the egg?
Timing is Everything

(1) The Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven

Matthew 4:12-17 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, He departed into Galilee; 13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: 14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, 15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; 16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. 17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

(2) killed and resurrected

Matthew 16:13-21 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His Disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist; some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My Father which is in Heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter. And upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt loose on Earth shall be loosed in Heaven. 20 Then charged He His Disciples that they should tell no man that He was Jesus the Christ. 21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto His Disciples, how that He must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised again the third day.
Matthew 17:22, Matthew 20:17-19, Matthew 21:37-39, Matthew 26:1-2, John 2:20-24

if you can not see the two gospels in the book you are not seeing ... in the OT this other gospel was called in one place "strange fire" here Jesus speaks to this other gospel which Paul was referring to

“Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever does not enter the sheepfold by the gate, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber.

this other gospel, which is not another is to try come to God/Truth in your own name, or same truth to try come to God by steps (Babel ) as in a laboring to bring forth ect ect

we can not enter the kingdom by force as in we can not enter into into the land until all our men of warfare have died out ... any attempt to come in your own name/identity and not His is this other gospel, albeit this serves Gods purpose and so is not another ....

christians for the most part have not even heard the gospel of the land Christ Jesus fulfilled in himself, understanding he did nothing of himself as in he labored for nothing believing all things were already his ... the gospel practiced and preach by 99.9% of christendom today is all of gain as in a crooked path of a serpent ...
