I can't think of anything sadder on your deathbed than the thought you were not you. On the other hand, I can't think of anything greater than you became someone else that someone needed out of love.

Well, apart from that I may not have got his name correct, but even so apart from that,

It was the only concern he had because he did not know what to answer.

"Conduct yourself with integrity and the One above will take care of everything."

He may have had doubts at the last minute, who can say,

When taking the step into the unknown,

Who can say?

I took the statement as part of the current discussion/theory that in the future monetary survival and success will be related to 'social credit'. If individuals don't go along with the ideology of an organisation (or openly oppose it), they will run into problems accessing service.
(We won't own anything, everything would be service based/rental).

In that (potential) situation being a misfit would have significant repercussions, maybe it already does under some regimes.
Not having social media would be a negative for social credit, not using your social media to echo the current accepted opinion would also be a negative.

Yep, I'm running into that more and more every day. Sad, but true, people are increasingly drawing social borders where before they were friendly, and more likely to bridge those gaps.

Yes, it may be echoes of 1st century living for Christians under the thumb of the Roman Empire. Like those Christians so long ago, we will be boycotted and misunderstood.

But, c'mon folks! It's not like we all didn't know this was going to happen anyway.

I'm confused.

You don't want to get treated differently for being yourself?

Do you want everyone to be treated exactly the same? Or do you just want to reap the benefits of your positive aspects and be shielded from any negative consequences of your actions?
But likes or statements aren't "actions". They are expressed thoughts, maybe even of a PART of what was said. One should have total freedom to express thoughts and like or dislike - where is that button? - whatever he chooses (caveat: inciting criminal behavior is already illegal).

You do. And companies have a great deal of latitude to express themselves in hiring and firing decisions or whatever.

What else is an action if not the expression of a thought?

"We need to remove all these lifer politicians." Thought or action?

"What X (politician's name) has done is unconstitutional and he should be removed from service". Thought or action?

"I'm going to punch these rug rats if they don't stop yelling." Thought or action? (No one will actually do that. Frustration or sarcasm or even trying to be funny causes people to express things they don't actually mean.)

Posting those sentences online is most definetely an action.

Well, if one considers merely sharing words taking action. I do not. Nor does the law, except in narrow categories as in calling "Fire!" in a crowded theater, advocating immediate violence, etc).

Of course the law sees talking as an action. Just go ahead and insult a police officer to his face, see what happens and how the law judges things. (Don't actually do that, please)

Insulting an officer who is presently engaging with you in a professional capacity is unwise and vastly different than merely expressing your own personal views on social media.

It's just my personal observations from questions asked on interviews, job descriptions using phrases like "team player", etc...
