just got done with an hour session. My therapist told me that my trauma is so extensive that he has to refer to seniorities and might be unable to work with me long term. He said its the most extensive trauma he's seen and he specializes in PTSD and works with veterans. I feel a bit disappointed and sad rn.

It is generally a good thing when providers recognize that they are in over their head. I encourage you to think of it as a deficit in his/her training, experience, or confidence rather than any assessment of you or your trauma. If you haven't already done so, I encourage you to have continuing conversation with your therapist about what exactly s/he means. I occasionally refer out when I know a therapist who is better at working with a particular problem than I am. That always has to do with me wanting to serve someone well, and it is not any sort of indictment of them.

He explained to me he is in over his head and I am one of the most forthcoming clients he's had. So Ik its not personal. None the less it still makes me sad.

Your feelings of sadness and disappointment are completely natural. I pray that God would find a better therapist for you if this one doesn't work out. I don't know much about trauma, but I pray that whatever needs to happen to make your trauma easier to deal with would happen.

Nothing is too much for God, EnterLight.

Father, please comfort EnterLight and let him know that You made him and You do not make mistakes. You have watched over him this far, and You can bring him through these trials. Thank You for having plans to prosper and not to harm ET, to give him a future and a hope. Bring him the right help and I stand in agreement for complete healing. Comfort his hurt. In Jesus Name, Amen.
