As indicated in the articles I posted you have a massive number of people that you have to convince that you are right and they are wrong, but good luck. Maybe you can come up with some overwhelming evidence that the media is a reliable source of information, as I said good luck.

We're just talking about reality here. I've never come across a single person who can provide any substance at all to this whole fake news malarky. If someone has thought their whole life that the earth is flat, or that their religion is better than this other religion, or whatever, the only solution is for that person to actually investigate the ideas they reject. At least then they could put a decent argument together. People who call 'fake news' never actually read the things they are calling fake, so why take that seriously? If you or anyone else can read something thoroughly and then demonstrate what they think is fake about it and why, that could at least be called an argument.

Trump campaign officials, led by Rudy Giuliani, oversaw fake electors plot in 7 states - CNNPolitics

Trump campaign officials, led by Rudy Giuliani, oversaw efforts in December 2020 to put forward illegitimate electors from seven states that Trump lost, according to three sources with direct knowledge of the scheme.

The sources said members of former President Donald Trump's campaign team were far more involved than previously known in the plan, a core tenet of the broader plot to overturn President Joe Biden's victory when Congress counted the electoral votes on January 6.

Giuliani and his allies coordinated the nuts-and-bolts of the process on a state-by-state level, the sources told CNN. One source said there were multiple planning calls between Trump campaign officials and GOP state operatives, and that Giuliani participated in at least one call. The source also said the Trump campaign lined up supporters to fill elector slots, secured meeting rooms in statehouses for the fake electors to meet on December 14, 2020, and circulated drafts of fake certificates that were ultimately sent to the National Archives.

"We fought to seat the electors. The Trump campaign asked us to do that," Meshawn Maddock, co-chair of the Michigan Republican Party, said at a public event last week that was organized by the conservative group Stand Up Michigan, according to a recording obtained by CNN.

"The sources told CNN"

Cuts the credibility to the bone.

Yup. Proof before evidence.
Like with the " MAGA " kid, or the Duke Lacrosse players.

Or the widespread fraud that cost Donald the election?

Will people ever learn that unidentified and unnamed source are indicative of a false narrative, funny how foolish people believe any thing that fits their needs.

Hmm. I'm pretty sure I've seen you defending the election fraud lies here so...

There was not all that long ago people called editors, who if you tried to get a story published without have verified it or using unverified sources, would terminate your relationship with their organization.

Was that time before or after Woodward and Bernstein, the Pentagon Papers, Edward Snowden? What twaddle.

OK everyone: the topic is in the OP. If anyone wants to make a thread about anonymous sources in journalism, they are free to do so. But that's not the topic here. If you don't find the OP story credible, so be it.

I'm not going to conduct my own investigation into this.

But given the known character and motivations of the people involved, I wouldn't be remotely surprised if this turned out true.

Well, we know "alternative ballots" were a key part of Donald's plot to overturn the election...

While one event does not mean that all subsequent events will be the same, a record of repeated events of the same type establishes a pattern of behavior.

I would agree with that statement. Where we disagree is in a pattern having been established.

Oh well, no anonymous source here telling us what we already know.

"One fake elector from Michigan boasted at a recent event hosted by a local Republican organization that the Trump campaign directed the entire operation.
"We fought to seat the electors. The Trump campaign asked us to do that," Meshawn Maddock, co-chair of the Michigan Republican Party, said at a public event last week that was organized by the conservative group Stand Up Michigan, according to a recording obtained by CNN."

As Giuliani coordinated plan for Trump electoral votes in states Biden won, some electors balked

Trump campaign adviser Boris Epshteyn told The Post he took part in conference calls with the campaign’s legal team, including Giuliani, to discuss elector participation.

“This was in total congruence with the overall effort to send it back to the states,” Epshteyn said last week. “With the rampant fraud across the country, the interplay of the 12th Amendment and the Electoral Count Act made it important to have alternate slates of electors be available when a challenge to states’ slate of electors would be successful.”

[my emphasis]. I believe the documents from 5 of the 7 states did not describe the electors as alternates, but as the “duly elected and qualified” electors.

Among the electors who declined to participate was Pennsylvania GOP Chairman Lawrence Tabas, an election-law expert who had defended Trump in 2016 against a recount push by Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

“While Lawrence was originally selected to be an elector by the Trump campaign, he did not serve as an elector because Joe Biden won the election and it was Biden’s electors that were certified,” Vonne Andring, a senior adviser to the state party, said in a statement to The Post.

If this turns out to be true, it's deeply concerning. The Republican party needs a new leader and one with a bit of integrity.
Here's something more concerning.
What Peter Navarro has shared with the world about how many Republicans in the House, along with Navarro, Bannon, a few Senator Cruz for one had plotted what they call the Green Bay Sweep, to overturn the election. The violence of the mob actually disrupted their plot. The hero that Navarro is speaking to is Steve Bannon.
So what the ex-mayor was attempting was the same as Navarro by a different means, maybe.

...yes, a plot to overturn the will of the people in six states.
