Joe Biden left all those latest up to date weapons and equipment behind in afganistan ready to be copied and reverse engineered by Russia and China, who can't wait for the chance to buy some of these weapons and equipment from the taliban.

Russia and China will soon have access to the US's latest hardware and software, which means that they can devise effective countermeasures against US weapons and hardware and also benefit from all those billions spent by the US to develop their own up to date weapons and equipment to nullify any advantage which the US previously may have had. How smart is that!

It does not take a great amount of sense to work out that NATO does not possess the numbers to match the Russian and Chineese numerical superiority, so NATO relied upon superior techology. Now a good part of that advantage will soon be gone. Thanks a bunch Mr Biden, just what we needed!

Perhaps you should review his approval ratings 33% is not a passing grade and indicates that many who voted for him are not happy now.
Weird to be told that I need to review his approval rating by a post which get that number wrong.

that excuse is not valid, it has been proven to not be valid and I am shocked that anyone would even attempt to use it .
Must have been so shocked you accidentally hit "Post Reply" before providing any sort of evidence for your opinion.

I'm sure you believe that, but it just isn't true that the weaponry/military goods that were left in Afghanistan was of any value to be reverse engineered. Can you name one piece that was left in Afghanistan that might have such value?

God bless,
Ted

No, I don't have the details, but never the less that is what television reporter were suggesting.

Hi @Trusting in Him

I understand, but that's why I always like to check claims that are made because there is a lot of false information that is made into battle cries. Yes, there was a lot of military and tactical gear left behind. No, as far as I'm aware, was any of it the kind of gear that would be considered 'top secret' in some way. Surely we don't need to hide M16s from the world. You can pick them up at most flea markets. Howitzer canons or rocket launchers and m60s are things that, if someone wanted to know how they worked, could pick one up from any arms dealer. We didn't leave the plans for Elon Musks space rockets lying around or the control station that might operate drone flights, etc. A lot of it was just gear, jackets, helmets, bullet proof vests tents and tent pegs, etc.

So, while I've heard the same complaint that you raise here, I've actually done some research into what these talking heads might be referring to as 'material from which our enemy is going to reverse engineer and be able to know how all of our top secret stuff works'. My information is that the stuff left behind isn't that kind of stuff.

Further, I believe that when any army pulls out of place of occupation where they have had a presence for years and years, there is always some 'stuff' that gets left behind. It just isn't worth the effort of packing it up and sending it back home vs. just leaving it where it is. Kind of like the bollards that have been left along the border now that we aren't building the wall. It's a lot of fairly valuable material, but it's been paid for and so the manufacturer doesn't want it back and the government just has to find a place to store it until it can be repurposed.

So, I would just encourage that you look into the facts of your claim before using it as some reason to dislike the current president.

God bless,
Ted

That is not true.
No operable weapons were "left behind."
The Afghan army gave up a lot of weapons but they certainly were not "up to date." That's the risk a country takes when it arms a foreign army with a weak government.

(I've got to keep a copy of this post for all the times it comes up)
This kind of confusion - who gave what to who, and in what condition, makes people yearn for the days when a Republican president would just hand the latest military tech straight to the Afghan insurgents and be done with it.

Or even better - sell a failing Gulf state arguably the most advanced air-to-air fighter in the world and forget to get them back after an Islamic revolution.

HI @disciple Clint

I think it would only be prudent to take the words of the GOP Senate leader as being at least somewhat biased as to what that person would say about the Democratic President's words and actions. I saw the draw out and I was alive during the Vietnam draw out. They both ended effectively the same. Of course 'long in the making' means that he knows that he's blaming Pres. Biden for actions and activities that probably weren't under his administration.

That Pres. Biden chose to couch the voting rights struggle today in terms of leaning towards the work of Pres. Lincoln who waged a total war over slavery and the rights of people to vote, vs. Jefferson Davis, who was fighting against Lincoln to keep the status quo as regards race and the imprisonment thereof, doesn't seem as 'disastrous' as I believe Sen. McConnel is claiming it to be. However, that's a personal call regarding how one sees issues.

So I mean I get it. That a large part of Sen. McConnel's job seems to be standing up for what the GOP supports. But in this day and age, I wouldn't expect to find, for the next 1,000 years, that a leader of one party isn't fairly often going to tear down the words and actions of someone in the other party. It's gotten to be the way politics is played. Hopefully, we sheeple out here living the American dream, can digest and inspect words even more carefully, when they are uttered about one party's activities vs. the other party's activities by an individual of either party.

God bless,
Ted

Ted, I would suggest that when CNN declares that a liberal president botched something, you can consider that an unavoidable fact.

Hi @disciple Clint

Well, if I ever hear CNN declare that a liberal president botched something, I'll keep that advice in mind. I'm not one, though, to rate presidents as liberal or conservative, but rather as good leaders or bad. I'm one to consider that often times liberal and conservative are identifiers that don't necessarily hold true at all times to anyone. They are terms that are generally used, much like 'socialism' to throw fear into the other side and are just automatically assumed to be 'bad' ideologies.

God bless,
Ted

Good Day,

Sinema, Manchin curb Biden's agenda

Snip:
President Biden for a second time in two months on Thursday saw his agenda limited by a senator from his own party, curbing the White House’s influence and power and raising questions about what accomplishments his party will bring to this year’s midterms.

He is lame- duck and his legislative agenda is now dead.

In Him,

Bill

My, my... so much handwringing ... what's it all for?

Good Day,

Not so sure it is handwringing but just the observation that with in one year he is quickly becoming lame duck, and his legislative agenda is dead inside of one year.

Kind of historical don't ya think?

In Him,

Bill

Sounds like gloating to me... odd thing to gloat over, but then again, I'm not a Christian; I've seen plenty of odd things around here.

Perhaps you should see the actual vote and not some media poll... we are careless what fake polls says
