Funny how DeSantis calls vaccine and mask mandates a form of authorism. , then...this happens...

Florida suspends health official in probe over vaccine law | AP News

Quote from the offender:

Pino wrote that out of 568 staffers, only 77 had received booster shots, 219 had gotten two vaccines doses and 34 only had a single dose, according to the television station.

“I am sorry but in the absence of reasonable and real reasons it is irresponsible not to be vaccinated,” Pino wrote. “We have been at this for two years, we were the first to give vaccines to the masses, we have done more than 300,000 and we are not even at 50% pathetic.”

Pino has led the health agency in Orange County since 2019 and has served as a leading figure in the public response to the pandemic in metro Orlando.

Basically, action was taken against him because he sent out an email criticizing their poor vaccination rate.

I recall back in Florida when the previous Governor, Rick Scott, said emails weren't allowed to have the words "Climate Change" or "Global Warming" in them.

I hate when that happens!

50% followed thier conscious and exercised the freedom of choose

Freedom to chose to get sick, get infected, get hospitalized, and unnecessarily clog up the hospital system.
He was just advocating for health, no reason to put him on leave.

Another good call by DeSantis, in my opinion. Other people's private medical decisions are none of this health official's business, and it's wrong of him to use his position of authority to push his personal beliefs onto others.

As for " clogging up the hospitals", what he doesn't realize is these days is that the hospital is the next to last place anyone wants to be. Even and especially if they are sick for any reason at all.
That's why people are postponing health care or surgeries. Because the surest place to catch Covid is in a hospital, and we all know it.

The Decision-Line

100% have done that.

There are four areas (3 plus 1) that are addressed in any decision process.

The four aspects are:

The product, service, issue must rank above the Decision-Line in:

1. Clarity - it must be visible, clear, and understood
2. Simplicity - it must be easy and available
3. Attractive - It must have appeal and interest
+ 4. Satisfying - It must be satisfying if it's going to ever happen a second time.
(# 4 is for any repeating event)

So "Vaccines" don't score high on any of the 4 aspects.

Only about half of all people rank these aspects high enough to cross over the the Decision-Line.

Some people understand the idea of a vaccine,
have found it available,
think it's worth the trouble,
and had vaccines before and been satisfied.

On a related note...

New weekly COVID case count in Florida soars to 125,201; testing positivity rises to 13.8%
As Floridians jammed COVID test sites, new cases soared, with the state reporting more than four times the number of cases this week tha

n last week.

For the week ending Friday, the state reported 125,201 new cases of the disease. In another clear sign that omicron is spreading fast, the state’s test positivity rates nearly tripled to 13.8%, up from 5.3% a week ago.

New cases likely will continue to rise. University of Florida researchers predict that cases in the Sunshine State, driven by the new omicron variant, could peak in February with more than 30,000 new cases a day.

Earlier this week Dr. Alina Alonso, director of the Florida Department of Health of Palm Beach County, said the rise shouldn’t be a surprise.

“This was totally expected,” Alonso said. “Actually, the increase happened a week later than expected.”

New cases for the week ending Dec. 23 are the highest reported since the summer delta surge but still below the numbers for August, when new cases reached as high as 151,675 in one week.

Last week Gov. Ron DeSantis said he’s not worried because Florida has easily accessible COVID treatments such as monoclonal antibodies. This week, however, treatment sites experienced a supply shortage, with questions looming about whether the antibodies being used in Florida are effective against omicron.

Jan 9, there were over 77,000 new cases that day. Because Florida is now hiding new deaths, it's not easy to find out how many have died since the latest surge.

How many Floridians really have died from COVID-19?\
Are Floridians getting an accurate picture of who is dying from COVID-19 and when?

Not likely.

Florida in August changed its rules for determining whether someone died of COVID-19, moving that responsibility from public medical examiners to the doctors who treated the patients. The change was meant to relieve medical examiners who were swamped with COVID deaths, but it also created inconsistencies in how COVID deaths are documented and raised new questions about the accuracy and timeliness of the state’s COVID-19 death counts.

Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees this week ordered an investigation into delayed reporting of COVID deaths, noting that some are now being reported two months late. A spokesman for Gov. Ron DeSantis questioned how a death could be caused by COVID months after a positive test result. At the same time, health experts say it is more likely that Florida’s COVID deaths, now at more than 16,500, are understated.
