There are ways to check to see if a belief is likely to be correct or not. Sometimes some Christians will try to claim that one is "testing God" when one does that, but that is not the case. What one is doing is testing one's beliefs.

Or one's personal translation of the Bible could be imperfect. I think that it is rather arrogant when some people believe that their personal interpretation is perfect and are unwilling to test it. It almost appears as if they are trying to tell their God how he had to make his creation.

I like to ask flat earthers to explain how the Antarctic has six months of day followed by six months of night, while at the same time the rest of the world has 24 hour cycles of day and night.


This is actually due to the round earth orbiting the sun, and rotating on a tilted axis. The 23 degree tilt of the earth results in the North Pole pointing at the sun for half its yearly orbit around the sun, (6 months) and pointing away from the sun during the other half - while SIMULTANEOUSLY (at the same time) the rotation of the round earth causes the sun to appear in the east and set in the west on a 24 hour cycle, IN THE REST OF THE WORLD.


The closer a country is to the pole pointing towards the sun, the longer its days are - and the shorter the nights are, and as the earth continues its orbit around the sun, the days get progressively shorter and the nights get longer, until it gets to the other side of the sun in 6 months and the South Pole then points at the sun.


While the North Pole is pointing towards the sun for 6 months, the South Pole of course points away from it, and experiences the opposite effect - 6 months of darkness - and the closer a country is to the South Pole, the longer the nights are and the shorter the days.


And it’s why HALF the earth experiences short days with long nights and is having winter, while the OTHER HALF is simultaneously experiencing long days with short nights and is having summer.


Now explain how the sun could cause that effect in any flat earth scenario.



Now on to hurricanes.


Hurricanes rotate only because the round earth spins on its axis. Otherwise high winds would blow straight.


Hurricanes always rotate in one direction in the northern hemisphere, and always rotate the opposite direction in the Southern Hemisphere - just as you’d expect to happen on a rotating globe..


To understand this effect , get a globe map of the earth - you know - one of those round balls that turn on an axis, and have a friend turn it clockwise while you look down at it while standing over it - then lay down on the floor and look up at it - now it’s turning counter-clockwise to you, and clockwise to your friend, simultaneously(at the same time).

Not really - just video bloopers. All basic errors of knowledge or deliberate misinformation. They seem to forget that back in 1965 there was no video or CGI - for example, the first integrated circuit wasn't demonstrated until 1960, and the first ones in space went up on the Explorer 18 satellite in 1963. IIRC state-of-the-art non-film 'instant replay' technology using videotape first appeared in 1963's with a maximum of around 30 seconds of recording.

The motion smoothness oddities in the video are artefacts of video enhancement - the original film is much rougher.

The odd visual effects at the satellite release are reflections of movement inside of the craft as the release is filmed through the multi-layer window.

The Gemini G-4C spacesuit worn by Ed White on his spacewalk had a helmet bearing that could swivel - a feature dropped from suits after the Gemini program for reliability.

The 'water drops' are small pieces of debris - once dislodged they just continue moving in the same direction.

Weightlessness on a parabolic aircraft flight lasts 20-30 seconds with the possibility of extension up to 40 seconds, not even minutes.

I didn't bother with the rest - it's just like those dumb 'moon landing was faked' videos.

Thank you for your explanation, however I find it largely unconvincing, on several levels.
1) There are well established stages in human mental development. Extrapolating the innoncence of children and extending it, unqualified it seems, into adulthood is unjustified. Dangerous ground for you: if you insist upon it the suspiciion would be you have been a victim to the supposed effect.
2) You talk about narcassistic individuals. They certainly exist, but the actions you are describing require exquisite coordination. You offer nothing to explain that.
3) Some people do indeed put their trust in what they perceive to be greater than they. But many people, especially educated, intelligent, people with a diversity of experience do not. Such individuals examine and dissect the facts, are not easily fooled and commonly find the worldview you espouse to be an unsupported one.

If you have any hope, or wish to convince people of the type mentioned in item 3), you will have to bring a much stronger argument to bear, one that is supported by fact, not fancy.

It was written for the Church, in fact for centuries it couldn't be heard, let alone read, outside the Church.
You can't pick and choose what bits you like, and what bits you can ignore. The Gospels are incompatible with Buddhism.
