Teacher: “The ‘Final Solution’ required that Jews were rounded up and sent to concentration camps where some were separated out to be gassed to death right away.”
Student: “Wow! That’s bad!”
Teacher: “… I’m not allowed to agree or disagree”

^^^ This is what you’ve just advocated in favor of.

That is precisely what I am advocating for. And you would likely advocate against it as long as it is not your ox being gored.

Then I guess schools can’t have rules or teach that kids should share and treat each other with respect?

You are being silly now. Rules on conduct in schools have nothing to do with subjects being taught.

Students that have been taught to think critically

You keep saying this like critical thinking is a 2 second teaching you get on the first day of school.

It isn't. Critical thinks takes time to learn and requires some maturity to actually understand and implement, and that's apart from the fact it is taught nowhere in schools at the moment.

How so? Republicans are liberals?
Some very much so. Most are, to some degree. The fact they are mostly more conservative than most democrats doesn't make them conservatives.

Sure and that is why he clarified his personal opinion on this topic; but why blow everything so out of proportion. I think the members of the Indiana legislature know enough about Scott Baldwin to understand his intent with this remark. It was only when the media took this comment out of context of the bill that was being discussed and used it to paint Republican senators as Nazi-loving extremists. That is truly despicable to talk about somebody that served this country in so many ways that these armchair journalists can so blithely belittle him.
His having been a Marine is incidental to the criticism of him. Having served does not grant him blanket immunity from criticism in the political sphere.

The fact that most democrats are conservatives makes every Republican a conservative with most Republicans being radical right-wing conservatives. It sounds to me like you are more radicalized than a lot of conservatives and are further to the radical right-wing.

I'm puzzled -- are you suggesting that the Final Solution is your "ox"?

No. And it's ridiculous for anyone to assume that it is.

Then where exactly were you going with that "ox being gored" metaphor? Because it really shouldn't be a crime to teach that nazis are bad people...

That shows your failure to see past your own prejudices.

A teacher repudiating “The Final Solution” gores your ox?

What else should teachers express their own personal views about? Is there a list of some sort?
Oh! “Their own personal views!”
No.
Teaching students that a reprehensible policy that targets other human beings based on their family history, with an eye to exterminating them from the face of the Earth is wrong.

That’s a bridge too-far for you?

No. That's not a conservative value, nor a conservative point of view.

Most democrats are conservatives??? You sound to me like a democrat --that much is sure. "Democrats are conservative, therefore everyone else is far right-wing looney."

You didn't answer the question. Who keeps the list of historical events labelled right and wrong?

Nobody does.

Who thinks that, by law, teachers should be forbidden to declare anything to be right or wrong?

Can we not allow teachers some modicum of freedom to discuss these issues? Without government interference and oversight?

Please go read the article. It seems I'm the only one in this entire thread who has.

And by the way, "government interference and oversight" of a government employee is really not that unusual.
