"Mein Kampf" is garbage. It's just not a good book, by any measure.I have a feeling The Turner Diaries are garbage. But Mein Kampf is worth reading. A smart man knows his enemies.
Would you rather children learn sexual material in the back of the family sedan? Don't we have enough abortions in America? This thread just goes to show how far we've fallen. That now sexually explicit material is being supported by ADULTS for children. What on earth have we come to when adults no longer seek to protect kids from this kind of material. What has happened in a society when almost anything goes for KIDS!?
ADULTS supporting this stuff. No wonder we are falling apart. This is no better than white supremacists teaching their kids to hate others because if the color if their skin. That is just as immoral. We would rail against that. But it's certainly okay for kids to fill their minds with this junk. Adults are supposed to protect kids not subject them to this stuff.
God help us.
From what I see about Conservative Christian. They preach to keep, what they perceived to be bad out. Even though they sneak around and do it. Watch inappropriate content, have affairs, abortion and all kinds over worse things. No, we protected our children from the heathens, and didn’t let them act like ones. It’s called raising your children and not letting society do it for you. No regrets. My kids are just fine.
And it’s “years”, not “year’s”.

To be perfectly honest, I cannot understand the fuss. The more you shield kids from things and disregard speaking about issues with children the more trouble they have adjusting when they ARE exposed to such things. I know kids who are in their 20s now who were home schooled and weren't taught things deemed inappropriate. Now they are still having trouble adjusting into adulthood and society. I always felt honesty and openness created the best environment to raise children. What part of raising children don't you understand? The kids probably see more sexually explicit things on their phones in one day than we were ever exposed to. If parents were truly concerned about their kids reading a library book with sexual material, why in the world do parents give their kids cellphones at such a young age? You don't need to answer the last question. I know the answer. PeaceWhat part of sexually explicit material don't you understand? This is not a scientific discussion of appropriate reproductive science.
The result of the puritan background culture in the USA. Everything related to sexuality is "bad", and needs to be hidden. To be perfectly honest, I cannot understand the fuss.

This attitude is always there, on some level, and in situations like that, it comes to the foreground.
Which is all the more weird if your consider the permissive attitude the general U.S. culture has in regard to much more harmful things.
The error must be yours. Go back and read it.Gee. The post you quoted used years! Correcting an error that does not exist!

I'm going to guess they also missed out on the natural teenage rebellion that comes with the school years, experimenting with things your parents don't approve of, starting to build your own personality that isn't rigorously controlled by your parents etc.
The typo was higher up in post #167.Nope, you are doubling down on your error.
So the rest of those here can check easily your error is in post 168 which quotes post 167.
Here is the part of post 167 bolding mine.

Assuming that you and your homeschooling circle include trained experts in teaching all the subjects involved in a high school education, that would just leave them missing out on the formative social year's where most of us learn what real life is actually like (including all the horrible stuff) rather than a sanitized, controlled version.
Library?
Sooner or later parents are going to find out about this internet thing. And they wont be happy.
But public education (aka 'government schools') is one of the greatest innovations by an American. Sure there are some hiccups as there always is in any established giant thing, but public education is the ultimate way to ensure all Americans have access to the American dream.
Free education to all to provide a stable background for an educated populace.
I don't see a reason to abandon them, perhaps reform, perhaps overhaul and fix, but never abandon. It's one of the things that made America great!
