• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have recently had intrusive thoughts about worshipping the beast, which I believe to be an unforgivable sin if one were to actually do it.

Of course I would never do it but it's scary and annoying at the same time, these thoughts just keep coming.

Attack the OCD; don't argue with it.
Do you have a psychiatrist (not just a psychologist)?
Also, find a church that has a healing ministry, if you haven't already.
(Come at it from both angles!)

I have tried deliverance around 5 times or so, both online and offline, it had no effect. I think I am dealing with a mental illness because the only thing that has helped so far is anti-psychotic meds, they get rid of the hallucinations. This beast thing is a new obsession or whatever you might call it, previously it was all about blaspheming the Holy Spirit and hating God.

I don't have a psychologist or a psychiatrist. I don't think I can find a good Christian one in my country, so far I only know of one Christian therapist who is taking on new clients.

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor that specializes in psychotropic medicine.
They need not be Christian.
(Psychologists are just counselors.)
Once they get you a medicine that helps, then you could take another run at healing or deliverance.
I think I am dealing with a mental illness...
If so, a healing ministry could still be helpful.

Meds have not helped with the intrusive thoughts at all, just the hallucinations. There are no healing ministries in my country that I know of.

There is only one way, is to plea with God for wisdom and revelation to renew your mind and your focus on life..

I think this is a good assessment of your thoughts! I'm by no means a medical expert, but according to my experience with OCD, I feel like you could be dealing with OCD, and yes, I would call those "things" (or "themes," as we say) obsessions too.

You don't necessarily have to have a Christian therapist in order to work on your OCD; there are many people in the online support group I'm in (Christianity and Anxiety Disorders - Let's Talk) who work with secular therapists on their OCD, even for religious obsessions, and have been able to learn how to deal with the OCD. That's because OCD is, at its core, a mental illness/disorder, even though it sometimes manifests as religious obsessions. The key is that the therapist knows how to treat OCD, specifically by using ERP (I believe some therapists use ACT as well) - and good therapists will work with you to help you honor your spiritual beliefs, even as you work on the OCD. Do you currently have any good resources to reference in helping you deal with your OCD?
