3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health,
just as your soul prospers.

Soul Prosperity is a Daily Pursuit

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall
meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is
written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you
will have good success.

2 Timothy 3:
16
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped
for every good work.

Soul Prosperity builds up the House of the Lord, the Body of Christ
1 Chronicles 22:
11
Now, my son, may the Lord be with you; and may you prosper, and build
the house of the Lord your God, as He has said to you.
12 Only may the Lord give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge
concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the Lord your God.
13 Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments
with which the Lord charged Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and of good
courage; do not fear nor be dismayed.

Soul Prosperity finds success in all that comes into your heart
2 Chronicles 7:11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the Lord and the king’s house;
and Solomon successfully accomplished all that came into his heart to make
in the house of the Lord and in his own house.

Seek the Lord, that your soul may prosper
2 Chronicles 26:5 He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding
in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.

Soul Prosperity is advanced in serving the Lord’s House
2 Chronicles 31:
20
Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right
and true before the Lord his God.
21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God,
in the law and in the commandment, to seek his God, he did it with
all his heart. So he prospered.

Soul Prosperity requires an open and honest heart
Proverbs 28:13 He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

Psalms 118:25 Save now, I pray, O Lord;O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity.

Soul Prosperity is received from above, by the Grace of God
Isaiah 55:
10
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return
there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give
seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and
it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

This is true. However . . . if I have put things together correctly > yes, Solomon was able to do so many things; but it seems that that prosperity did not keep him from sinning against the LORD. We need the prosperity of how our Father deeply corrects our character > Hebrews 12:4-14, 1 John 4:17 > and how He personally directs us in His own peace >

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

To be personally ruled by God's own peace is great prosperity.

Yes, God's word "shall" do all that He Himself means by His word . . . not limited to the sort of prosperity that we can think and hope, but more and better >

"godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come." (in 1 Timothy 4:8)

I understand that "godliness" is the character of God . . . of His love. This character of God in us makes us submissive and pleasing to our Father, like Jesus is so obedient and sweetly pleasing to our Father. So, "godliness" is God's gift, of His love's own character which He shares with us by having us in intimate union with Him > "he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him." (in 1 Corinthians 6:17)

And so we can be personally guided by God in His own peace (Colossians 3:15), in this submissive nature of His love. And by having this submissive and sensitive character, we are able to relate with mutual submission with other children of God who also are gentle and humble and submissive >

"submitting to one another in the fear of God." (Ephesians 5:21)

"without complaining and disputing" > in Philippians 2:13-16.

This is very great prosperity . . . how we can be truly intimate by being mutually submissive in God's love, with our Father personally guiding how we share with one another, so we are not fighting and struggling to control others in order to get inferior things.

In God's love we can share as His family, plus this love is all-loving, making us also all-loving by character, with our Creator's creativity for how to love each and every person.

So, if I understand this correctly, I would say this is very great prosperity, to have this "godliness".

Thank you for your response, I truly enjoyed reading the thoughts you shared.
These ideas are familiar to the scriptures posted, and you wisely drew correct conclusions.

13 Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments
with which the Lord charged Moses concerning Israel.
Be strong and of good
courage; do not fear nor be dismayed.

Yes, Paul is in agreement with John.
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health,
just as your soul prospers.
That is what "soul prosperity" implies. Surely one can prosper without it.
Jeremiah 12:1 Righteous are You, O Lord, when I plead with You;
Yet let me talk with You about Your judgments.
Why does the way of the wicked prosper?
Why are those happy who deal so treacherously?
Are you familiar with Psalms 73?
1 Truly God is good to Israel,
To such as are pure in heart.
2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled;
My steps had nearly slipped.
3 For I was envious of the boastful,
When I saw the prosperity of the wicked
.
16 When I thought how to understand this,
It was too painful for me—
17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God;
Then I understood their end
.
This caveat is mentioned often:
Yes, Solomon prospered in faithfully building the House of God, but then he broke
every rule for being a godly king listed in
Deuteronomy 17:
16
But he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt
to multiply horses, for the Lord has said to you, ‘You shall not return that way again.’
17 Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he
greatly multiply silver and gold for himself. (Oops!)
There is no however to it. Yes, you have drawn accurate conclusions, and the scriptures
you posted are wonderful! Thank you for adding them to the study. I like the way Paul
sums up what he had been teaching in 1 Timothy:

1 Timothy 6:6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

Contentment with what we have as great gain, is a great theme of the Gospel.
Hebrews 13:
5
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have.
For He Himself has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.
6 So we may boldly say:The Lord is my helper; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
Amen! And be blessed in your contentment.

Contentment
I think of Genesis 15:1 > in which certain translations, not all, say the LORD is our Reward. And He is our Best of Everything.

And being with God includes being able to love. This is a very present reward and prosperity.

Finding out how to love is the greatest education and adventure we can enjoy.

And yes it says God "gives us richly all things to enjoy," in 1 Timothy 6:17. But this does not mean how lust has people wanting and liking things. But with God we enjoy things and people, without being possessed by them and controlling them and using people to get what we want > "I will not be brought under the power of any," our Apostle Paul does say, in 1 Corinthians 6:12.

There is the way to enjoy something. For example, you can enjoy a tiger, but you might prefer to enjoy it while it is in a jungle in India while you are in your cozy place where you stay somewhere not in India, maybe. I can enjoy chocolate . . . while it is still in the wrapper > I can sniff it and enjoy the aroma and be content . . . or nibble some of a bar every now and then.

It does not take much to enjoy something . . . or someone. I can just think of my sweetie, and I am having special love. And I think of ones who have been good for me, whom I have not seen for some time, and I am blessed by their example and how they have shared with me > because what God does through genuinely Christian people continues and increases in us, if ones have been really good for us, I would say.
