Jesus said in the Gospel unless we drink His blood we have no life in us, and in 1 Corinthians 11, we are to examine ourselves regarding His blood, to be worthy to drink His blood.
John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
1 Corinthians 11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
Romans now begins a series of points about this.
In Romans 1, we see the Son of God is declared, to be of power, by the resurrection of Him from the dead....
Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
Next chapter, Romans 2, the doers shall be justified, ( not hearers only)
Now the conscience comes alive, as all of the secrets of men are judged according as the Gospel testifies.
Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Romans 3 next, how the prophets witnessed ( declared) the righteousness of God in the faith of Jesus Christ, to all those who believe.
Propitiation is grace, to believe in His blood, shed for the remission of sins that are past, declaring the righteousness of God, to justify the believer through the justness of God.
That is the law of faith established...
Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Next Romans 4 continues, how righteousness is imputed, if we believe in God raising Christ from the dead, who was delivered for our offences ( for the remission of sins that are past) and risen again for our justification ( showing faith in the risen Lord in our walk with Him)..
Romans 4:23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Romans 5 continues, how we are justified by that faith ( of having the risen Lord in our faith and walk) having access by faith into His grace, to stand, to be justified by His blood ( in belief of this) to be saved from wrath through Him..
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Over to Hebrews 9 and it is the conscience ( now alive as the blood speaks and is alive to us) purges us to serve the living God from dead works of the sins we are propitiated from....
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
We know we have Christ risen in us who was risen again for our justification.
Then we know He was delivered for our offences, and we then are buried with Hi
m right there in baptism, which is the answer of a good conscience by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
That is the operation of God, it is the declaration, it i the propitiation, it is the justification.
We as told, are delivered form wrath through belief in His blood, and it is all by belief and action, to be behaved, to have a conscience and examine ourselves to be worthy of drinking His blood, as the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God, so be slow to speak and quick to hear the engrafted word, by laying aside all filthiness and naughtiness, not deceiving our own selves by being hearers only ( to be justified) but to be doers of the work ( to be blessed) and bridling your tongue, or your religion it is told, is vain...
James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
