• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have similar issues as well and the way I cope with it is by reading the Word of God. There's absolutely nothing I can do about the stupid voice but it has subsided when I confront its stupid accusations and arguments with the Word of God.

I can relate alot to what u said when u feel like people don't like u and are attacking u. I went thru a good period with that. The way I'm trying to deal with that is by simply ignoring what I think about how they feel about me. Sometimes it's like I hear them bad talking me but I can't trust it because time and time again the people that I thought were bad talking me and out to get me weren't doing that at all and my actions spoke for itself in the heat of my emotions which is why I acted wrongfully. Then I look like a clown...I found that fighting down others doesn't work especially if u want your heart in the right place even if their actions toward me isn't right. Working on it still but it's a progressive thing.

I recently moved to another home in the countryside and my neighbours are far off, yet I still sometimes hear them bad talking me. With the evidence of how far off my neighbours are, it's near impossible for me to hear them unless they are shouting way off younder to me. I know it's a lying voice trying to cause confusion making me believe in false realities. So I'm learning to ignore it and live nice with people inspite of. Sometimes I think it stems from my own insecurities of being loved and accepted by others.

Probably u should try not to take things so personal. Like just let go of the offense u feel when something is done or said that upsets u while simulatenously not being afraid of being yourself. I honestly didn't see your post till today so I responded today

We can detach from our minds by doing things like gardening or fixing engines. Find something that you can do this for. Also practice mindfulness: thoughts dont need to be taken seriously. Incorporate a healthy lifestyle, sleep, diet and exercise. Locate one person who you like talking with in real life and tell them about this. Voices are sometimes challenging if you are between the ages of 17-25 and this is the first time a medical person noticed I would take that seriously and ask what treatment they recommend. Kind regards Alex
