Again, it’s about expectations. If my wife was expecting diamond earrings for Christmas, and I gave her cubic zirconia, you’d say that at least I got her earrings.
Yes. It just seems that expectation for Biden are so high while standards for Trump (generally) simply did not exist in any meaningful way.

These are the expectations that the experts put out. It’s what the economists think should happen.

Source then? I haven't been able to find anything about what "economists think should happen".

Nobody wants to work!
(Unemployment at 4.2%, the slackers!)
Is that 4.2% of the population or 4.2% of those who are actually looking for jobs?

We can't really be surprised at this can we? I mean the economy had opened back up. People needed to go back to work to live. The government checks don't keep coming.

Companies are hiring workers and people need to work. After last years economic disaster from covid people have come back. I'm glad to see it. I predicted it cause I knew money was going to eventually run out and people would need to work.

There have been a lot of people who quit looking for work. A lot more jobs should have been added that weren't. We'll see what happens through out the season.

I have no idea.

Then why would it matter? If they're no longer looking for jobs, they either found one, or they no longer need one.

Either way, their worries are over.

I find it odd how Trump asked that question repeatedly during 2016 (claiming there was a 20% "real" unemployment rate) but as soon as he took office in January, 2017 we never heard that from him again -- instead he touted how great the unemployment rate was (the one that doesn't count actual population and instead only those actively looking for work).

Interesting that now Biden is in office and unemployment has dropped back down, we start hearing the "real unemployment rate" questions that Republicans and Trump supporters never talked about while Trump was in office.

It gives a skewed view of unemployment.

How does this address my post?

Lol. At least I know I hit a nerve. I wasn’t expecting that.

Then verily, you have your reward.

Meanwhile, a lower unemployment rate means fewer people are applying for government aid...(which unemployment technically isn't, but now isn't the time to go into that), which should please you; I dont understand why it doesn't.

At the same time, it means that fewer people are needing "government aid," which pleases me to no end, for reasons which should be obvious.

But at least you found something to be happy about -- the (perceived) unhappiness of another.

I never said you were unhappy.
