• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello. this is my second post and while thinking about my past I remembered that while I was a non believer in both god and satan I jokingly made a remark about " selling my soul to be the best guitar player " Never in my life have a sat down and thought " I want to sell my soul " seriously and I cannot remember if this actually even happened. Does the verse 1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. apply to this? Of course I do not think I have ever communicated to a devil in my life and I am not the best guitar player.

Thank you for the response but I am still a little lost. Am I still saved? I did this prayer genuinely and accept Jesus (the prayer I did is at the very bottom)

Christopher Parkening is one of the greatest guitar players ever. The reason I share his testimony with you is so that you can see yourself in his shoes. Are you trusting the work of Jesus for your salvation? Do you want to glorify God in everything that you do? This is the litmus test of genuine faith.

Thank you for the response. I will look back on these posts for years to come. I trust Jesus and want to glorify god in everything I do. If I could I would get baptized right now

Pray and feel with all your might, but know that these are not the evidence of salvation. Cling to Christ and His Word. These alone are the secure anchor of your confidence of eternal life.

Yes. 1 John 1:9 pertains to your sins.

1 John 1:9 KJV
9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

All of them. And the wording states that it is HIS faithfulness and HIS justice that is the power behind this verse. You just confess, and He does the rest. Just do it, and know it is complete.

Also Psalm 103.
1 Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits--
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,

He is not kidding. He said it.
Your job is to believe. Accept this as truth. Know that He did what He said He would do.
