Indeed -- and I feel for any officer who finds themselves in that rare situation... because the truth is the majority of police can go years, even entire careers, without drawing their service weapon, let along firing it.

Personally, I think not firing should be the default training -- be we have people around here who seem to believe (or perhaps prefer) the police to be trained killers.
How do you train someone to stop a person from killing them? You only have a second or two to do something, how do you deescalate that?

I'm just saying. Our lives matter too. No reason to get upset.

Not upset at all -- just pointing out that "All Lives Matter" is less of a movement and more of a counter-movement... and you might want to ask what they're trying to counter.

As I said, if you want to stand up for the white race, that's your prerogative -- but you might not get along with the people you end up standing with... and that could be a problem...

...or maybe you'll get along just fine -- which might be worse.

It's about what you do before those seconds... it's about making sure it never gets to that point in the first place.

Police are involved in hundreds of active shooter situations every year.

You're misinformed about reality.

Our military is trained to kill, not our police force. Police are trained in the use of force only in self defense.
Part of that self defense training includes the use of deadly force. That's why they have shooting ranges where they shoot guns at targets in the shape of a human torso, and they are trained to shoot center body mass. Police are trained to do a lot of things, among them the use of deadly force; and when a criminal behaves the way Tamir Rice behaved, there is nothing else they can do but enact deadly force.

Kyle Rittenhouse got to run down a street with a REAL weapon fully loaded (he'd killed two people already with it) and the police didn't have a problem with him.

Cliven Bundy and his friends actually got to point loaded weapons AT FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMNT officials and that was OK too.

Magic? Hypnosis?

The old "look out behind you!"?

If those are the only things you can think of to prevent a person from using a firearm, perhaps the responsibility of gun ownership is a bit much to ask for...

Kyle had his rifle holstered and his hands raised high in the air, so he was not a threat to the police.
Cliven Bundy and his friends actually got to point loaded weapons AT FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMNT officials and that was OK too.
Not familiar with this case, but from the way you discribe it, he should have gotten shot.

Hundreds of thousands of police. You're misinformed about mathematics.

Tamir Rice was not a criminal, and there were many other options that could of been employed.

They protest justified shootings of black criminals.

No its not. The cop didn't get it to that point. He did nothing wrong that would cause the person to pull a gun on him

Cops could see a mob was attacking him. And Kyle never pulled his weapon on police. The two incidents are not comparable
