Relations between the U.S. and Russia, which are already tense, took another turn for the worse Wednesday after Russia said it was ordering U.S. Embassy staff who have been in Moscow for more than three years to fly home by the end of January.

It said it had resorted to “retaliatory measures” after the Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, said 27 Russian diplomats and their families would have to leave the U.S. on Jan. 30, and another 27 diplomats would need to depart by June, because their visas have not been extended by the American authorities.
Sending the most seasoned diplomats home from both countries is not a smart move.

No reason for war, they should just come back by way of our southern border... no biggy.

War between Russia and US would probably be something akin to what you might see in a very open marriage counselling session.

Trust me, there's love lurking there behind all the macho posturing and chest thumping.

I think your obligatory hatred of all things Democratic has prevented you from making a point...

... unless, of course, obligatory hatred of all things Democratic is the only point you have...

I think his point was more in regard to the harm stupidity can do.

Considering we pulled out of Afghanistan due to the war costing too much money I don't see us fighting a new war anytime soon.1
Especially when the mindset is that it costs more to remove our equipment than to leave it.

I know it's money that has to be spent since the world is developing new nuclear weapons that will likely never be used but America could do a lot more things if we stopped wasting so much money developing new nukes that will never be used. We already can blow up the planet 50 times over why do we need stronger weapons?

I know this has nothing to do with the topic at hand. It's just something that bothers me.

Wow, you go from embassy staff (probably spies) being sent home to full blown declaration of war? Too much caffeine today?

Few things in this world are more harmful (or more stupid) than needless panic.

But if anyone cares to grovel at Putin's feet every time he so much as pouts in our direction, don't let me stop them...

The military industrial complex won't be pleased. But I doubt any money spent now will get diverted to free health care or education.

That plus the fact our objective was achieved ten years ago! Political fear kept us there after ridding the world of OBL. I'm happy Biden kept his campaign promise.

Yes you went to install a friendly government that would allow Halliburton the rights to build a pipeline which the Taliban had refused.. Mission accomplished and it ended as it started with the exception that the pipeline would not be harmed.

Must be fun to turn to one's opponents for moral guidance -- saves one the trouble of asking oneself troublesome questions regarding ethical behavior.
