The higher gas prices are a direct result of supply/demand...so they're using capitalism to protest...capitalism???

Seems kind of hypocritical as well, yes?

Name one way that Biden could force gas prices to lower without interfering with the free markets.

It's unfortunate that our only choices are "tap into domestic reserves" or "play nice with a Saudi Prince" in order to get reasonable fuel prices, but it is what it is.
No thats not hypocrisy and doesn't refute my point either.

So you think that kids can't put Biden stickers on things? Biden stickers have some kind of magical power that if a kid tries to stick one somewhere it doesn't permit them? Do you believe they have a force field or something?
Total strawman.

Even if the end result is donations to a campaign, it's still capitalistic consumerism... paying exorbitant amounts for branded merch that "sends a message to the world" so to speak.

My point is that if you have enough spare income to buy a $60 sweatshirt (IE: a $10 sweatshirt with an AOC quote on it), or you have $24 to spend on "Biden-bashing gas pump stickers" to distribute to slap on the pumps at all of the local Sunoco stations when the clerk isn't looking, you're clearly not in a position to complain about "the disastrous effects of the economic impacts of your political rival"

In countries where there are legitimate shortages and people going without necessities, do you think they're wasting what precious resources they have on virtue-signal swag?

And yet if gas prices hadn't gone up, then people would have been able to spend $36 on Biden-bashing stickers instead of the $24 and AOC could have gotten by with only $27 donation instead of $60. *nods*

Your ignorance lies in your inability to understand (well, probably an unwillingness to understand) that AOC does not think capitalism is bad.

From your far, far radical right-wing libertarian perch you like to take shots at other conservatives who are less radical than you as well as liberals, especially the ones you don't understand at all, like AOC and Bernie.

Ummm, what?

Do you care to explain (in detail) what makes me "far, far radical right wing"?

In what world is a pro-pot, pro-gay marriage, pro-environment, pro-universal healthcare person (but just so happens to be okay with guns, and rejects some some of the 'woke' stuff) "far far radical right wing"?

I take you off of the "ignore list" for 10 seconds just to see what the replies were, and I'm already remembering why I clicked the button in the first place.

Can you show me receipts of Democrats who bought the stickers? They try to sell them but very few buy them, and the few who buy them are typically children who are too young to be registered to vote so they can't be Democrats. Stickers are for children, let's face it.

You obviously don't know anyone who does scrapbooking or decorative planning.

Many things make you radical right - your libertarianism is for sure radical far-right and reactioniary. But right in your own post you proudly talk about how you lambaste AOC for being capitalistic in her fund-raising while labeling her as someone who despises capitlism. She does not despise capitalism nor is she anti-capitalism. But someone from the far, radical right would consider her anti-capitalism because when you're that radical you have extreme standards for what is valid capitalism to you.

You tell on yourself by expressing your views, it's not some secret I decoded that you are far radical right.

People do scrapbooking with Biden bumper stickers? Any examples? Not seeing that on Pinterest

Sure it does...

A) the current gas prices are what they are due to supply-demand dynamics
B) Biden has no way of changing that without trampling on the "free markets"

In your perfect world scenario, what do you propose for what a president should do to lower the gas prices, without interfering in the free markets?

That's because those of us who like the things you mentioned but are also anti-woke have broken the algorithm. If we like Bernie, conservatives call us far left and then push us even leftier and then we end up rolling over past the programming limit and end up on the far, far radical right side.

Or something like that! :)

(But I would have never imagined it would be *stickers* of all things that would set it all off!)

Well I donated to the Democratic party before the 2020 election and got an inaugural sticker with Biden and Harris on it and the Capitol building behind and I glued it into my planner for the week, and I was registered Democrat at the time I did it.

I never said anything about children not being able to use stickers
You did indirectly. You made the statement that there are Biden bumper stickers as some kind of evidence that stickers are not for children. You are making the claim that since there are Biden bumper stickers it is proof that stickers are not for children. But yoru assertion doesn't prove what you waned to prove. All those bumper stickers were put on by children. What makes you think it wasn't children who put those stickers on the cars?

That's not True. Do you even know what she believes? She said capitalism is irredeemable.

No, I lambaste AOC for being a hypocrite, not because of her views. If you notice from my other posts, I take a softer approach with regards to Bernie. (for the record, I would've preferred Bernie to either of the other dullards we were left to choose from in 2020)

And my views about AOC and capitalism aren't just "pulled out of thin air"...they're based on her own statements.

AOC's own words during a congressional hearing:
"Capitalism is a system that prioritizes profit at any & all human/enviro cost"

Doesn't sound like she's giving a glowing endorsement of capitalism... She's also referred to capitalism as "irredeemable".

What would you make of that?

If you think a system is something that "jeopardizes humans and the environment" and is "irredeemable"...safe to assume you are "anti" that thing, correct?

Yes I know what she believes. She's right, capitalism is not redeemable. She believes that for different reasons than I do but as a Christian I know it's not redeemable - it's based in mammon. What needs to be done with capitalism is that it needs to be tempered by social policy.

I wish she were more anti-capitalism. She's not. She's not for getting rid of private ownership. She just talks big to appeal to a certain part of her base. She can't go full socialist because even her base is not like that. She brands herself as a social democrat and that's not an anti-capitalist political vein.

When you are a radicalized right-winger you see everyone to your left as communist, that's the problem that the conservatives have when it comes to understanding AOC and others like her.

How is it hypocrisy? It could be wrong thinking if you are right. But not hypocrisy. What would I do? I would drill more oil. Couldn't hurt.

Your entire post loses all its credibility from the first sentence. You lambaste AOC because of her hypocrisy but not her views? How do you do that? How can she be a hypocrite if not for her views? They go hand in hand.

And you demonstrate yet again that you don't understand her views. She isn't a hypocrite for being capitalistic when her views are not anti-capitalistic. But you think she's anti-capitalism because you are so far right you just believe the same as the rest of the reactionaries.

As a Christian, the belief I have is that man cannot serve two masters - I (we) cannot serve two masters, I will cling to one hate the other. We cannot serve God and mammon (money, i.e. capitalism). However, we live in a world where capitalism is part of our reality. The best we can do is leverage it while tempering it with social justice. That is my view as a Christian. I don't know what AOC's reasoning is but many non-Christians share this view. It is not anti-capitalism, it is an honest look and acceptance of capitalism in a certain context and recognizing the currently capitalism is out of control.

None of this will register with you though, as you've demonstrated time and again, including in the very post I'm responding to, where you bleat out the same old hackneyed stereotypes based on nothing more than reactionary radical right-wing lore about "the LEFT (oooooohhhh!!!!)".
