__________

Chapters 25 thru 28 of Ezekiel reveals the sin of Judah’s neighbors (the Ammonites, Moabites, Edom, Philistia, Tyre and Zidon) and announced judgment was coming to them. Ezekiel also brings to our attention the sin of Judah and identifies them so thoroughly and how judgment would also come to them. My brethren, if God’s own people could suffer such judgment, think about those who don’t know God? Satan is still the primary influence of sin in our world system today as it was in Ezekiel’s day.

Thus, our eyes should be open to the presence of the wicked one who is the god of this world as stated in 2 Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” and who authors spiritual wickedness in high places as recorded in (Ephesians 6:12). Even though it’s Satan who motivates nations to sin, we are still responsible for our own actions (sin).

My friend, nothing has changed! The sin in the days of Ezekiel is the very same today and the human heart is still deceitfully wicked. There is a time coming when God, the Creator of heaven and earth will judge the nations of the world and every person will stand before Him. The Bible succinctly states that Jesus Christ is coming back. He is the Inescapable One, and as such, we must either receive Him in this life as our Savior or stand before Him in the life to come as our eternal Judge.

Closing thoughts:

A story was written some time ago about a doctor who made it his chief concern in matters of religion to degrade the character and dignity of Jesus Christ. He viewed the Savior with so much contempt that he always spoke of Him in a demeaning way by calling Him the carpenter's son. As time went on the physician became terminally ill and during the weeks before his death, he became very distressed. He remarked to the person who was attending to his care, I’m a dying man, and what affects me the most of all is that I must be judged by the carpenter's son!

This story illustrates that a terrible future awaits all who have rejected God’s gift of eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. Yet, even in his last conscious moments (like the thief on the cross), if the doctor had trusted Christ as his Savior, he could have found peace and received eternal life. So, how have you been treating God's only Son? Remember, the carpenter's son is the Son of God, the Word made flesh. My friend, trust Him today and you will receive the blessing of salvation, not the sentence of condemnation (John 3:17). The question remains, “What will you do with Jesus?” You can’t be neutral because one day your heart will be asking, “What will He do with me!” So, my friend, my questions would be:

(1) What have you done with the Carpenter’s Son?
(2) Have you accepted Him or rejected Him?
(3) Please, don’t be like the foolish doctor!

(4) If God is calling you today, then trust in Christ without delay. Tomorrow may be too late because death’s gruesome hand could seal your fate for eternity.
