I took a break this afternoon, and painted the body and driver figure of an R/C model kit I had sitting around. The paintwork is usually the last part I get to, but it can be frustrating to have an otherwise mechanically-complete vehicle that still needs painting. It's more enjoyable this way.

Adele's message last night came just in time and reminded me that I truly am not alone so I am definitely feeling inspired now!

Adele? Like, the pop singer Adele? ^_^

Love your new avatar, by the way, @GospelS .

I was watching OKC v. Miami just now, and apparently, there's this odd tradition where all the Thunder fans have to stand at their seats until the home team scores. It took a minute and a half of game action before they could sit. :ahah:

I first read that as OKCupid vs. the people of Miami. Maybe they were fed up with all the members who don't bother to read profiles. :help:

Apparently, they're now owned by the same parent company as Tinder. Although I'm not interested in dating sites, both platforms often come up on some of the forums and podcasts I follow.

OMM:

-Funny how things that are only fantasy like anime and video games can be so emotional. They can make you laugh or cry or feel the suspense.

-I was recently reading some stories I wrote 14-15 years ago, and I laughed at how stupid they were. :muahah:

-I'm enjoying writing my new series so far. I'm trying hard to make the characters more accurate, explain things that didn't make sense in my older stories, and add good amounts of humor.

I do the same thing. XD

Some of them were just downright embarrassing.

I do think that my Star Ocean 2 fanfic from 18 or 19 years old when I wrote it - I don't know if you remember doing so but I think you read it yourself at fanfiction.net, Miss Multi - was pretty good, though. ^-^

I ask for your prayers right now for the sake of my cousin Courtney and her family. While I have not seen my great Aunt Kathy (on my mother's side) in six years at least, she unfortunately died last week with some suffering from a brain ailment I do not have the details on, just that ... her brain bled. So I guess it was cerebral hemorrhaging. :( Strangely, it upsets me more these last several years since becoming a conditionalist Christian that a person I know or love dies in a seemingly painful or debilitating way, more so than the very fact he or she is gone, in and of itself. But for Courtney, her husband, and two children, I know it must be hard for them as they lived a lot closer and of course spent much more time with Aunt Kathy than I did even as a child when I could be around extended family a lot more often, Kathy being Courtney's mother and all. Please pray for their peace at this time, but especially for Chelsea, one of the two children. This is almost twenty years after my time in the same stage of schooling, so, I can only imagine how much worse in so many ways it is for Chelsea having to deal with people bullying her in high school. This is her senior year, so God willing at the very least such painful times will naturally go away on their own once she hits college next year. Still, even with a likely end in sight, such times are hard and often seem hopeless to get through in the eyes of the victim ... if my personal experience from when I was in high school and below is anything to go off of, like so many others. And remembering what I do of Chelsea's cutely diva-ish nature when I last saw her at 11 or 12, I do feel some big-brother-like indignance that she of all people has to deal with this kind of thing; who could dislike her personally enough to want to torment her in school? (Not that anyone actually deserves to be bullied of course, but why such a nice girl as Chelsea?) :(

I hope I have not said or revealed too much about these affairs when for all I know - with what little personal interaction I have had with Chelsea or Harrison (the other child) ever since Chelsea was born 18 or so years ago - Chelsea may not even remember my name and face if I were to be there for Aunt Kathy's funeral, the date of which has yet to be determined, and see she and the others I speak of in this post. I just know that I feel the same protective stance over her after hearing of her being bullied in school that I would over, say, friends like @Multifavs or a younger version of Bella or Sampa. And I and likely many others in this community can say that, unfortunately, we've been through the same. :(

At last I will be going out of town to see her off, this weekend.

This is the beginning of the memorial put up on Facebook, about Aunt Kathy, if I may share without it seeming too personal. :)
Kathy McGinness Haggard of Spring, Texas entered into rest on Sept. 9, 2021, in Houston, Texas. She was 74 years old. A memorial service will be held in November at Forest Park The Woodlands. Born in 1946 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Sylvia and Richard Henderson McGinness, Kathy grew up on a farm in Chickamauga, Georgia and participated in 4-H, winning many awards for her sewing and cooking. She graduated in 1964 from Lafayette High School in Georgia where she was chosen Most Beautiful in her class and was selected to the Homecoming Court. After graduation she attended Edmondson Junior College and then began working at American National Bank in downtown Chattanooga where she met the man who would soon be the love of her life, William (Bill) Haggard. In 1967 Kathy and Bill married at her home church Rock Spring United Methodist in Chickamauga. The couple had two children, Courtney Haggard Wellmann of College Station, Texas, and Kevin Haggard of Spring, Texas.

Well, she is a Haggard (my maternal grandmother's maiden name), so I guess it is no wonder everyone thought she was beautiful. And of course she was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee like so many in my family, including myself - the greatest city in America. :) May she rest in peace.

October and November are two of my favorite months. Colorful leaves, dry air, and moderate temperatures. I'm less fond of December through early March, unless there's snow and the infrastructure to handle it. We don't get much snow where I live, and what little we get causes all sorts of problems for the local drivers. It wasn't as much of a problem when I lived in New England.

It was good to take a week-long media break. This one I was a little bit more loose on and just focused on certain things.

There was a guy that I was to have a conversation with by phone, and we talked Monday. It's the first time that I've had someone dominate with their story of their past relationship for over an hour and not want to let me speak. I interjected quite a few times to ask a question and let him know that I was engaged, yet it was past my bedtime and I was not optimal. I found it strange even at the end of his story how he said he wanted to hear more about me the next time that we talked, but he still persisted in his story longer.
His story was unique and surreal. I can relate on some levels and we have some things in common. I was expecting to let him know we weren't a long-term match, but had no way of conveying this with all the twist and turns that his story took. I was not expecting even Faith to come up but he made sure to interweave it, even though his profile doesn't talk about it. His story introduced me to a world I'm not familiar with in the south of great wealth, a Christian that is keeping up with the Joneses, trust fund, unamicable endings that involve wire taping and a Court case that is forthcoming. It's been over a year and a loss of all 3 houses, but I don't feel he's ready or that I have the capacity to be a long-term prospect.

The question he kept asking over and over again is "Why me?" "Why did she pick me". At the time I didn't have any answers and it took me 3 days to catch up on my sleep and get over the mind blowing conversation. Little by little I had some answers and I wasn't sure if I would continue conversation with him. I decided to send a simple text to find out how his new apartment is going.. and for the last 3 days it seems like we can't connect by phone. He works late hours and I work early hours, I'm pretty much a vegetable by the time that he wants to talk. I will just have to let this one go and move on. I was hoping to find some closure by phone and thought about sending something by text, but he does not like text. All prayers are appreciated as I don't think this is a mess that I should get myself involved in.

On a good note I've had an advent study to focus on with my Bible study group. Little by little I am getting reintegrated into a Bible study fellowship and personal time in the word.

Another praise is that I've narrowed it down to two churches that I'm thinking about locally out of the 17 that I started before the pandemic. Also as I was sorting through various things and getting a lot accomplished around the house yesterday, I was praising God for all the provision that he has provided in ways that I never expected as a single person. Praising God and rejoicing what he has done these last 10 years, including my health and the inspiration that I have provided for others. I'm grateful that all my trials and tribulations have brought about good things to encourage others as they go through their trials and tribulations. I pray that God will continue to do a good work in my heart and thinking of others and being more charity minded than I have been in the past.
