How is the Jerusalem inside you?

• Zephaniah 3:1-4 -> “Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city! She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God. Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow. Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.”.

See the characteristics of Israel in the Old Testament:

• Filthy -> full of sins;
• Polluted -> contaminated with other gods;
• Was an oppressing city -> see what they were able to do and the reason for this (Amos 2:6-8; 3:9,10; 5:7,10-12,24; 6:6,13; 8:5,6; 9:10);
• Didn’t obeyed the voice of the Creator -> not even they wished this (see Isa 30:9-11; Jer 5:29-31);
• Didn’t receive correction -> see (Isa 1:5; Jer 2:30; 5:7; 7:28; 17:23; Zeph 3:7; Zech 7:11,12);
• Didn’t trust in the LORD -> they preferred to trust in false words (Jer 7:4; 29:31);
• Didn’t draw near to her God -> On the contrary: they changed the Creator for false gods of other nations (Jer 2:11). They drew back in a continuous apostasy (Jer 8:5).
• Her princes within her were roaring lions -> they considered their people as their meal (Micah 3:3; Eze 11:11);
• Her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow:
o Micah 3:11 -> “The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.”.
• Her prophets are light and treacherous persons -> they prophesied pursuant to what was convinient to them (Micah 3:4).
• her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law -> they ate from the offer of Israel’s people (Hosea 4:8).
And the situation didn’t change. We are living the time of Micah:

• Micah 7:1-6 -> “Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit. The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net. That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up. The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity. Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.”.
So, have a good day living what Micah and Habakkuk lived:

• Micah 7:7 -> “Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I ;will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.”
• Habakkuk 3:17 -> “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 3:18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”.

Psalm 51

16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
