"killed," I said. Not died. The far left's claim was that insurrectionists killed people with fire extinguishers or something else.

Ashli Babbitt, a Trump supporter, was shot by police officer Michael Byrd.

One died of a heart attack, and that was outside the Capitol.

One, the founder of a pro-Trump website, died of a stroke later that day.

One, another woman and Trump supporter, was crushed to death when police pushed other protesters on top of her and would not let them off (according to the New York Times)

And the fifth, again a Trump supporter, went home, told his family he was fine, but died of natural causes the next day.

Oh, I see; it's "the far left..." That's nothing but demonizing those who disagree with you. Polarizing this country by wildly exaggerating others gives your real intentions away. And we know where that started. Bye!

Well, let's see. Between two and three Billion dollars in property damage was done in several hundred riots started by these people, police stations and government buildings were attacked, set afire, etc., and about 20 people were killed. How many of the Antifa and associates have been summarily executed ad a result??

Nice try at changing the subject. Typical!

Oh, I see; it's "the far left..." !

I'm not the one who popularized that kind of terminology. I simply fell into line with the hundred or so posters who have made their claims be about the "far right" in the past few months when all they were speaking of was anyone other than a Democrat. Maybe you should have taken your grievance to them.

"Pilate said to them, “Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Christ?” They all said, “Crucify him!” He asked, “Why? What wrong has he done?” But they shouted more insistently, “Crucify him!” Matthew 27:21-23

The judge went a bit easy on him. The prosecutors were asking for 51 months. Still, he’ll have to trade his fur and horns for federal prison garb for 3 years and 5 months. Though if he behaves himself, he may get an early release.

Judge sentences U.S. Capitol rioter 'QAnon Shaman' to 41 months in prison

Yes that the name the left gave him.. the left that just went off the tracks with "QAnon, the internet conspiracy theory" haha. He wont be in there that long.

Its a great site to hear about how Jesus Christ died for you so you might have life.. no one love s you more.. so great to see those that do not believe get to read how Jesus Christ died rose for them! Hes calling thats why they come.

You think that "QAnon, the internet conspiracy theory" is funny? Really? There is humor in tearing this country apart?

Bye.

Heh. Somewhat related.
I didn't know you could do this...

View attachment 308514

"You are in contempt!"
"I plead not guilty to being in contempt"
"huh?"

But, I learn something new every day.
Maybe Bannon will learn a thing or two also.

That's not quite how the sequence went as it is contempt of Congress.

1. Committee issues subpoena.
2. Bannon says "PFFFT!! No way." (Dialog simulated)
3. Committee says "Testify by tomorrow or we'll find you in contempt.
4. Bannon doesn't show.
5. Committee writes report detailing subpoena and contempt.
6. Committee votes on contempt recommendation (9-0)
7. Whole house passes contempt resolution (Most in GOP vote against.) Sends resolution to Dept. of Justice.
8. About 3 weeks later, DOJ prosecutor presents evidence to Grand Jury. Grand Jury returns criminal indictment for contempt.
9. Bannon is arrested and pleads "not guilty"

You can always plead "not guilty" to criminal charges. In fact almost everyone does at arraignment. (Even those that plan to plead guilty later on.)

I remember one recent case I was following (forget which one) where they came to a plea deal, and the DOJ presented the new charging document (indictment or other), the defendant pled "not guilty" and later that day there was a plea hearing where he pled "guilty". I think it was because there are rules requiring the judge to check that the defendant understands the charges, isn't coerced, etc. and agrees to the statement of offense and the terms of the deal. These rules effectively prevented the judge from accepting a "guilty" to fresh charges.

I'm pretty sure he had that moniker *before* the insurrection.

1. He showed up to a lot of events (including election related ones) in that get up.

2. He practices "shamanism" as his religion (or so he claims. He lead a fairly Christian prayer from the dais of the Senate while he was committing his specific felony.)

3. While dressed in that get-up at other events he would shout Q slogans and carry signs that said things like "Q sent me"

I don't know exactly how the sequence went, but when his picture circulated on line the comments were like this (approximate dialog): "Who's that weirdo?" then "Oh my, that's the Q-shaman. He shows up at things in Phoenix all the time dressed like that and shouting about Q", the "The Q-shaman is an actor named 'Jake Angeli'". I don't think we knew his proper name until after he was arrested. (I followed this on Twitter, but I suspect it was similar elsewhere.)

Oh, look! That's exactly what his wikipedia page says:

Angeli was formerly a supporter of Donald Trump,[10][23][24][25] has a social media following, and has attended rallies supporting QAnon mostly in and around Phoenix.[10] At various rallies in Arizona, he shouted about QAnon conspiracy theories and carried a sign that says "Q Sent Me".[26]

Before attending far-right rallies, Angeli was noticed in 2019 for frequently protesting alone outside the Arizona Capitol, espousing various conspiracy theories.[27] He was reported as a shamanic practitioner when attending a climate activism protest in Arizona.[28] However, in early 2020 he told The Arizona Republic that he began wearing his distinctive fur hat and face paint to attract attention so that he could then talk about QAnon and "other truths".[10][27] He appeared at a Black Lives Matter protest in the Phoenix area in order to spread the QAnon conspiracy theory.[29] He protested COVID-19 lockdowns in Arizona.

Following the 2020 United States presidential election, Angeli's protests focused on challenging the results of the vote in Arizona.[10][30] He camped outside the Maricopa County Courthouse during the vote counting process,[31] and gave a speech at a rally there on November 7, the day that president-elect Joe Biden announced his win, declaring, "This election has not been called! Don't believe that lie! They got their hands caught in the cookie jar and we're going to the Supreme Court! Trump always looks like he's going to lose. And then he wins."[25]

It's hard to know what to think of that Reuters article. The Shaman guy aside, no one was killed in the riot except for Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed protester, who was murdered by a guard. Yet Reuters says four or five were killed there and then or took their own lives, so what else in that news report is fiction? Well, it quotes Trump as saying "Fight like hell" (and nothing else) in his speech, but it's well-known that he urged his listeners to be "peaceful" as they marched to the Capitol later on.
Well, it was certainly an attempt at assassinating American democracy. Minimize it all you like.

Jake Angeli (or Chansley--whatever name he uses) should be incarcerated long enough to have a thorough mental health evaluation. He may not be psychotic, but anyone who truly, sincerely believes in the QAnon rubbish must have some degree of a thought disorder. Jake apparently thinks people's brains are affected by TV and radio emissions. And he believes some kind magnetic lines amplify these effects. I'm not a psychiatrist, but I am a trained health care provider. I know mental illness when I see it. And I know that this kind of paranoid, conspiratorial thinking (and his behavior to oppose it) is not normal. It's unfortunate, but hopefully prison could be his mental salvation.

Pretending that the poster was speaking of someone other than he actually had been referring to was sorta cute for awhile. It doesn't work anymore.
My post is factually accurate.

Wow. Not one but two downright ghoulish sneers at the unnecessary death of a young woman and veteran who was murdered for no good reason.

Unnecessary -- Absolutely, it wasn't necessary for her, amongst others, to violently gain illegal access to the seat of government and threaten a democratic process whilst chanting for the murder of a Vice President.

Murdered -- Not at all. She was one of many violent protesters that gained illegal access to government property whilst chanting for the murder of the Vice President, in an attempt to disrupt or overturn a democratic process. Not only was her presence illegal, but breaching barricaded doors whilst they tried to protect politicians and the Vice President the mob was calling to be killed... well, it's no surprise really what happened is it. The only surprise is that they got as far as they did without stepping over the bodies of their co-conspirators.

She's ultimately to blame and responsible for what happened to her.

'QAnon Shaman' sentenced to more than 3 years in prison for role in Jan. 6 attack

Right out of the gate, I don't think he should be given the same sentence for his role as the guy who plead guilty to actually assaulting a capitol police officer.
"Chansley -- who wasn't accused of assaulting law enforcement or destroying property"

But apart from that...
So, just to make sure I'm aware of the rules and precedent being established moving forward. (so I can come back here and quote them for future debates pertaining to similar circumstances)

Unlawful entry should carry a 3 year jail sentence and a felony on your record if you're considered "the prominent figure of a movement"
B&E should get you shot in the neck.
Trespassing and acting unruly because you're unhappy with the systemic outcome of something should give you a felony on your record.

If someone was a prominent figure in a movement like CHAZ/CHOP (a movement that took over government property), like Raz Simone (who was a defacto leader of the motley crew)...he should be going to jail for 3 years to think about his involvement and share a cell with the buffalo guy, yes?

Or for instance, if someone is mad about something that happened, and choose to barge into an establishment and harass/intimidate people, 3 years jail time for them and a felony so that we limit future employment opportunities, yes?

Or, if someone is breaking the law, and a police officer tells them to stand down and comply, their refusal to do should get them a bullet, yes?

Everyone okay with those rules? I'm certainly not...

I think people need to give more careful consideration to the kinds of things their celebrating and take more of a big picture view, rather than rejoicing in the fact that "somebody from the other side got their comeuppance"

I'd be interested to have you give us the details concerning that chanting for the murder of the Vice President that you say she did.

The shooter gave interviews after he was cleared of charges, and when asked about it, could only say that he was scared and that the situation seemed dangerous to him.

If your story were correct, it would be inconceivable that Michael Byrd would not have mentioned any of it, since he otherwise had no good explanation for him to have taken careful aim and then shot to kill.
