Canaanites. One of the seven nations is called Canaanites, while the others are called the
Amorites, the
Girgashites, the
Hittites, the
Hivites, the
Jebusites and the
Perizzites. The suffix "ites" indicates "fallen
sinful evil nature." Thus the reason for the "funny" notation under your initial post. IOW, why would you care to know their meaning.
The suffix “
ah” appears at the end of many Hebrew names and words, and means “

from God.” Not every Hebrew word translates easily, and a lot depends on the

YHVH”. My own preference instead of the vowels points "e" or "o" and instead using "
a" three times as
*YaHaVaH considering "a" being the "father" of the Hebrew alphabet.
Ahavah means the GOD kind of "Love" in Hebrew, and at its most basic level, it means to have affection toward someone. But biblically speaking, love is more than sentiment—it is also action. In the Shema, Israel is supposed to respond to God's love by showing love to Him in return.
