In whom are we waiting for?

As we saw in Zephaniah 2:1, Israel became an undesired nation. An the reason can be seen in Zeph 1:9 and below:

• Zephaniah 2:4-7 -> “For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up. Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant. And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks. And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.”.

Note how intimate were Israelites and Philistines. Certainly the Israelites were thinking that the Philistines and their gods could help them to veer the judgment that was coming from the Creator through the king of Babylon.

And we, many times, figure the same, that is to say, that we can sort out the problems by our own capacity.

The truth, however, is that, if everything goes wrong in our life, it is a sign that there is something wrong between Jesus and us. In this case, we need to conciliate with Him first before go out in searching of the solution.

For instance: let’s suppose that husband and wife disagree with each other. Instead of trying to make amends, both ought to seek in Jesus repent, convert from their bad demeanor and follow Jesus toward the reconciliation.

After all, the problem isn’t a simple misunderstanding, but a breach in their character and only in Christ the mercy can be exercised and close this breaches in both hearts (see Eze 22:30; Mal 2:15).

Note, in Zeph 2:7, that, In the end, who would inherit the land of the Philistines was the remaining of Judah, those who kept close to the Creator.

So, stay close to the Creator, enjoying His company in meekness (Ps 37:4) and you will inherit the land (Ps 37:10,11), the boons.

Go to the place where Jesus wish you and He will make right your paths (Ps 37:5,6) and make alliance until with your enemies (Prov 16:7) and the animals of the fiels (Job 5:23; Hosea 2:18).

So, have a excellent day seeking Jesus and His kingdom first (Mat 6:33).
